Jordan Sibley has confirmed on his twitter account that Barnard is out for the rest of the season. Despite this as bad news, we will have Lallana hopefully back for the remaining games, allowing Guly/Connolly to go up top. For me Barnard scores all our key goals and someone needs to fill his boots. I have a good feeling about Connolly as a super sub grabbing a few goals, Forte could also be key with his pace. Hopefully Guly's goal versus Rovers will be the first of a few more. Four wins out of five should ensure auto's...

Barny will be a great loss, but Guly has shown he can do the business up top. Let's just hope we have enough in us to crawl across the line!!

    Should?

It would have to a complete freak end of the season for it not to be. Not only would Huddersfield have to win all 4 of their remaining games - including away to both MK Dons and Brighton - but they would also have to overturn our substantial GD advantage. Currently that stands at a 13 goal advantage, and you can almost certainly increase that even further if we are indeed to win 4 more games (I say "almost certainly" because in theory we could be completely dicked in our 5th game).

3 wins and 1 draw is what should get us promoted, but 3 wins or even 2 wins and 2 draws could be enough.

Any way, as for Barnard, it's a great loss yes but I don't exactly see this as unexpected news or anything. I firmly expected him to be out for the season already - the injury wasn't far from where I was sitting, and it really didn't look good. I've spent the last fews days preparing for 5 games without him, and trying to work out where we go from here (clearly Connolly's involvement has had to step up a notch now).

I think Guly although talented, is a really lazy player. his goal against Rovers did little to hide that fact. Step up Connolly and keep Guly as the super sub if needed.
Lee Barnard wil be a massive miss but the players will get promotion to cheer him up i'm sure. Lee is my player of the season as he has juggled his off field problems well and bust a gut for our great club.

I don't think NA will tinker with formation at this stage so I expect Guly to start up front with Lambert with Connolly on the bench. As Lallana and Chaplow are apparently ready to play now that should mean Guly won't be needed in midfield.
Just one point, if Huddersfield lose on tomorrow Adkins could possibly hold the two returning from injury back until Monday for a game we really should win,

I think if we start pushing Connolly too hard too soon he'll pick up another injury. He hasn't played regularly for a long, long time.

I'd be tempted to try away from home Lambert up top on his own with five in midfield. Lallana, Forte, Stephens, Chaplow and Hammond. Hammond constantly sitting deep to give the others (especially Chaplow and Stephens through the middle) to support.

I know the feeling! The sad thing in my case is that I read to the end of your comment before I realised it was the same as the first one :emoticon-0120-doh:

Like it to be a 10-0 thrashing of Brighton (after all we have Poyet's permission), but will settle for scrappy 1-0 in our favour.
