Man City - Away, Chelsea - Home, Spurs - Away. I can't help it but I feel nervous about these, i hope my feelings are unfounded.
We need to be playing good against the likes of Swansea at home and Norwich away and picking up more points. We can play out of our skins against Man City and still end up losing like last season.
To be honest I thought City were poor today and very lucky to get a point. You never know we might just surprise them again...
I feel we can only get something from these fixtures at the minute if we have a slice of luck An early sending off could be our best hope for me
At face value, coupled with our two performances thus far, you'd have to say that we'll get no points from those three games. Having said that, we'll probably go and win at the Etihad next week!
Referring back to what Neville said earlier, the big games take care of themselves. Although its not as big a game as say Norwich or teams around you I think you'll raise your game and perform better than expected. I think getting anything at City is a tall order but Chelsea at home and Spurs away are winnable. Very difficult, but winnable. Chelsea traditionally struggle when we're overwhelming favourites going into a game and Spurs are criminally overrated. Cisse and Zamora are more than good enough to cause their backline problems. Defence will definitely be the Achilles heal of all the big sides this year especially Spurs
I reckon a point against spurs is all we will get , but as me dad always says i couldnt tip a wheel barrow!
Having only seen the home game against swansea and highlights on the telly, 1 point from a possible 9 is the best we can hope for. I would hate to get that point at ethihad, only to lose the next two - no one seems too good enough to score - our only goal so far, was a tap in from a missed pen. Starting with Mackie is not a good idea, I love the boy, he is so energetic, bit he can't keep it up for 90 mins. We have Johnson, Zamora, Hoilett, Betty, Cisse, DJ and don't forget Hulse - We need to get men in the box.
Perhaps not, but Cisse up front on his own is not, has not and will continue not to work, so why not pair up Cisse with Johnson or Betty and stick Hoilett in midfield, and have Hulse as sub, just in case.
If we can sign mbia and throw him in CDM I think we might get something from these games. I actually think our defence in the second half v Norwich wasn't that bad (Bosingwa-Ferdinand-Onuoha-Fabio), we just need someone to break up play in midfield. Signing Cesar would be a bonus, can't see it happening though. We may as well sell green if that's the case, his confidence would be crushed to the point of no return, if it hasn't already.
I feel more relaxed against them, everyone expects 0 points so I will be happy with anything from them. The players may feel that way too and it would explain the reasons for losing virtually every 6 pointer and then beating most of the big teams.
