Chelsea were awesome at the beginning, and we couldn't handle their technical footy.

We could have got a point with the chances we had, but no point in crying about it.

Another 4-4-2 disappointment, what's the point? If we play Ben Arfa we'll bit a bit exposed on the wings, we might as well play 4-3-3 and go for it.

    Ratings -

Krul - 6 - A couple of decent saves. Not much he could have done about the goals.

Simpson - 5.5 - People will bash him for his first half performance, but how was he supposed to take on Hazard and Mata by himself? Ben Arfa was always pushed up the pitch, and Pards was urging Simpson to make runs to help the attack, he was gonna get raped. He picked up after the first 25 mins or so. Not bad.

Colo - 7 - Got skinned a couple of times, but some great recovery play, and a good performance.

    Saylor - 7 - Good performance.

Santon - 6 - Got beat too easily at times, and it lead to their penalty. Good attacking play though.

Ben Arfa - 7.5 - Probably have to be MOTM as he produced nearly all the quality again. Some great dribbles and set up a few attacks.

Anita - 6.5 - He's still learning, but despite a few bad decisions, he made a lot of great little tackles and set off attacks. He also made a great pass to pick out Ba and we were almost in.

Cabaye - 6 - Not too much to say, some good passes, another average game. We should go back to playing 4-3-3!

Jonas - 6.5 - Let himself get frustrated at times. Good, hard work, helped out well in defence. Won us freekicks as usual.

Ba - 6.5 - Should have scored that last chance. Decent performance, worked well with the team, and did some decent midfield work.

Cisse - 5.5 - A couple of decent passes, almost a perfect ball to Ba. His chance from the freekick was harder than it looked. But still, disappointingly quiet.

Marv - 6 - Some nice bits of skill, good ball in that nearly lead to the Ba goal.

Raylor - n/a - Gorgeous delivery into the box that nearly turned into a goal. Some decent play.

MOTM - Ben Arfa. Almost did it a couple of times.

Overall - We looked tired, but we could have got a result. We were the better team in the first half.

No one injured, no one booked. A lot of positives to take from it.

Agree with most of your ratings apart from Saylor and Colo, both only deserved a 6, as does Ba who should have scored a consolation goal. Thought Marveaux had deft touches but nothing else

Rest Cisse next week, bring Marveaux in and play 4-3-3. Have to say today was a combination of **** finishing, **** tactics and opponents who were clinical, a very scary combination. Pards has to hold his hands up to this one.

You can't draw many conclusions. You were missing your best player (Tiote IMO) and were handed a ridiculous schedule.

You've not even got going yet and beat Spurs without getting out of 2nd gear and put in a decent 2nd half v Chelsea.

    Lots of positives.

I thought the only player who wasn't poor was Ben Arfa. There's no real flow or connection between team members at the moment and I'm hoping that's just because it's early.

Playing like we did today we'd have to be very lucky to beat anyone, as we were against Spurs. Things need to improve.

was there-saylor definitely deserved a 7, thought he was really solid. ben area and cabaye looked great-think time to properly judge them will be villa-be 100% match fit by then. anita looked good but f****** stupid tackle for pen. overall thought we were good but will come on-better to take a check after the villa game then we should know where we are

I disagree. I think we had some decent build up play from the back in the second half and against a lesser team we would have gotten more balls through their defence.

Danton made some decent runs and again against weaker opposition he would have had a field day.

We could all just look at it this way.. If someone said to anyone of us that we would get 3 points from our first two games against The Spuds and Chelsea then I think most would of bit their arm off...

Jonas was ****. So was Cisse. If Tiote is back for next game I'd honestly drop both. Marv on the left of a front 3. People say Santon needs protecting but not sure he does that much. Swansea away was his best performance probably and he had Ba in front of him that day. He shouldn't need baby sat and that is basically the only thing Jonas is doing atm.

My word people have short memories, have people already forgotten how Cisse was at the end of last season. He will come good, hopefully next weekend.
