Like everyone else I was gutted that the game was called off today. However, I have to say that at times maybe things are destined to happen this way. On one previous occasion, me and Yorvik Joe have met; had a couple of pints together and went our separate ways. However, today me Joe, along with his son (Teeside Mackem) and his grandson; along with some of my family and friends, were thrown together for a full afternoon of drinking and chat...

For me , the positives that have come from today are that Joe, who I have always regarded highly, is now a lad who I can class as a true friend for life...And secondly I have hopefully gained the friendship of his son Teeside, and also the respect of his grandson who is not a member here..
All in all it is a day which I will not forget in a hurry..

Oh...... You're here! I tried to contact you today to find out which pub you were in. I was sat in the car with my sombrero, Newcastle shirt and underpants. Unlucky mate, that was a one off promise and you missed out.

Sounds like you had a good day anyway, Joe seems a canny enough bloke. <ok>

Joe is great mate, as is his son and grandson...
Me and Joe are most definitely men of our words, and I have always held you in the same esteem..However, I'm sure you stated that would turn out for a pint with us (dressed in your pants and Mag shirt) if we ever signed Johnson...So we are waiting with baited breath for this appointment..

Glad you managed to find the silver lining in that rather large cloud hanging over Sunderland today, Mr RAW.

I did say that mate, however, it was a one day offer only....... aye, Joe sounds a good bloke. Probably one you wouldn't like a clout off by all accounts!

Absolutely gutted he's signed for you. A left back and a defender and you'll have some squad assembled there.

I suppose it's just built in my nature Hieronymus...I was on nightshift last night and had to drag myself out of bed after only a couple of hours kip to keep my promise of meeting these lads...It was well worth it though, and following a cracking afternoon, I'm now going to chill out because I'm back at work at 7AM tomorrow..

Reg and Joe and their families had a good day, even after the disappointment of the game being called. <ale>

And the Skunks get tonked by Chelski, good day all round then. :)

I'm probably the only one who is happy that the game was called off seeing as I'm down Louth (still).
At least you and Joe had a catch up mate.

I'm a bit like that too. No point in crying over spilt milk, just make the best of it and move on,. Like you found out yesterday, sometimes good things come out of a bad situation. Hope your hangover doesn't cause any trouble at work today, don't envy you at all!!
