Without wishing to sound like i agree with the annoying, poncy, posibly gay, floppy haired gog, he may have a point. We don't match the ambition that the other big teams show, i know we've made the possible signing of the season in Cazorla, but if Malaga weren't in the doghouse, we wouldn't have been anywhere near him, and we would have had another mediocre window. We need 1 more big signing, preferrably a DM, to be able to be sure of top 4.
I can't stand Savage, every prediction he makes he gets wrong. I think finding a quotation where he has got something right would be almost impossible. He even gets the outcome to Charity matches wrong. Worst "Pundit" ever. Arsenal will get top 4 this season, unfortunately for us.
I think its ludicrous how a poor period of 4 or 5 years can wipe out the previous 120 years the club has of being a massive club in the eyes of pundits like Savage. More proof that he is not fit to be a pundit on the BBC and that as Cym says, the BBC is being dumbed down, probably for the youngsters who don't do anything other than knee jerking and changing their opinions depending on that weekends results.
Robbie Savage is the BBC's answer to Samantha Brick - employed for the sole purpose of riling people up and getting page hits on his 'controversial' Q&A videos. My heart sinks when I see him on Final Score.
No, i posted it because i'm angry with how bad we are when it comes to attempting to sign players, for the record, i have never touched "waccy baccy". Savage has a point, we do lack ambition at times. A club of our stature should be aiming to win trophies, not just settle for a top 4 finish.
I never understand people getting riled by Adrian Durham on Talksport. When are people going to realise Durham & his sidekick are reading from a script. The whole point of Durham's "debates" is to get people to pay 50p to text or 10p a minute to phone his radio station
Arsenal are a big club when compared to 99% of English teams but you are losing ground to United, City and Chelsea. One could argue Liverpool are in the same position as you.
This thing about AFC being not a big club anymore has crossed my mind when I heard Wenger's comment about Hazard this spring/summer. "He is a top,top player who should play in a big club, - said Arsene - a club like Arsenal". And when I looked at his face it was so blindingly obvious that Arsene did not believe for a second that there was a single chance in hell to get him. That was really sad to see.
yep, and that, unfortunately, defines "big club" these days. Get a sugar daddy and you are a big club.
Apart from, it doesn't. All it means is that those clubs have 'bought' their success. Chelsea are like Millwall with a lottery win, they were a yo-yo club up until the 90's. And City were getting relegated when we were winning the double. It takes more than a few suitcases full of cash to make you a big club.
