Bit unfair there aussie , swim's biggest problem was the manner in which it was " unstickyed " & I can understand why he's a bit irate .
What manner was it? It's back now, so can't see the problem? ALso, if it's that popular, it would stay at the top of the forum due to post activity.
Just saying it shouldn't have been taken off till there was some sort of " Member discussion " in the first place ... then I don't think there would have been as much irateness to the situation . I just don't see the advantage of not having stickys' for member competitions ( Prediction & Fantasy ) & for a bit of a music & joke thread . Seems like a lot of voting for nothing really .. just an opinion
Don't agree Breezy. The mods are there to mod and people bleating about decisions just makes their job harder. Anyway, the stickies will all be on one link from no on so the people have spoken.
Did the people really need to speak ? .. this problem was manufactured from nothing . Doesn't really matter to me , but to guys who made these well read threads ( not neccessarily a lot of posts on them ) it's a bit of a kick in the arse .
We were asked to speak, Breezy. There are plenty of people who are either ambivalent to stickies or like them. Fact is there seem to be many more that's don't like them at all. That's the way it goes, and it's not as if we're losing them altogether. Petulance when a mod takes a decision just makes for bad feeling and there's no need for it imo.
Mods don't make decisions , they moderate . The stickys' was a non event till it was brought up by .. mods I think . I don't really care except for the fact two or three sticky thread manufacturers had the rug pulled out from beneath them ,.
The job of a mod includes managing forum content Breezy, so that inevitably involves taking a decision or two - sometimes difficult ones. Think we'll just have to agree to disagree.
