If you read my post you would understand that I've been on the sauce. Any little jibes in posts are lost on me tonight.
I agree there's some top, top players in that list (and a few more I don't think you mentioned) but I can see the other side to the argument... A lot of those players were in the same team as each other, in a team where we were challenging for the title, then regular CL, it was almost expected that they would be great players. Ben Arfa however, signed when we had JUST made it back into the Premiership, he came with a reputation for trouble and a natural ability and so no-one knew how he'd do (especially with Carroll and Barton already grabbing headlines). Whilst we finished 5th, and looked reasonably convincing doing so, no-one really expected us to at the start or even mid-point of the season. We got there through steady displays from our better players, Cabaye, Tiote, Colo and Krul, and moments of brilliance from lads like Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa...Ba and Cisse were incredible for half a season each, Cisse scored the best goal in the league last year (and a couple more that could've been in contention) but there's just something about Ben Arfa - no matter where is on the pitch, the crowd get excited when he gets on the ball (and its the same with the national team from what I've seen). Look at the Bolton game, he picked up the ball in his own half, took on 5 defenders and beat them for raw pace before finishing calmly in the bottom corner. Against Blackburn he changed direction at least 8 billion (give or take) times before slamming the ball into the top of the net. He can get to the byline, the can cut inside and he can (and has) scored against the best teams in the league... He's not perfect, but he seems to genuinely love the fans and puts in 10x more effort for us than he ever did for Marseille or Lyon!
Jarra and Jesus, I wasn't disputing the lady's ability or growing affection towards you. He's a very gifted player, albeit with rather debatable taste. It was simply a jib that after a short spell with you, he's become second best ever player.... By the way, I meant to say lad (bloody predictive keypad), but on review thought it was slightly amusing.....
I personally predict defeat away and victory at home in the derbies this year, both should be ****ing cracking games. I long for a cup final between the two.
The only thing I can predict on derby day is a vast increase on my consumption of alcohol. It either numbs the pain or makes me celebrate harder!
Ha ha , very much this! Imagine though, even a quarter or semi! We never draw each other on the cup, Brummies, Mancs, Cockneys, always happens. Us, never. Probs cos we both usually go out early doors mind...
