Ok so the news all over twitter right now is that the team will be: Ruddy Martin Barnett(!!!) Bassong Garrido Snodgrass Johnson Howson Pilkington Jackson Holt Subs: Rudd Tierney R Bennett Surman Hoolahan Morison C Martin Not quite sure what to make of it! I like the idea of having Snodgrass on the wing- definitely his best position, but the obvious shock is Barnett. I don't personally think Bennett deserved to be dropped, tbh, but I suppose we don't know how the players perform in training. Or does Bennett prefer to play on the left side of central? EDIT: this is the team according to the official NCFC account
ugh, Jackson UGH UGGHHHH ugh. meanwhile, I hope someone who follows me on twitter took the 12/1 on Garrido as anytime goalscorer... massive free kicks and QPR aren't exactly foul-light
I'm going to assume you're joking about Jackson! He is always at his best playing off Holt. I'm excited about this.
I never joke about Jackson, if we sell him i will pay for his train ticket elsewhere. running into cul de sacs and not being able to hit the Barclay let alone the goal are all minus points for me...
Fair enough re his finishing and he can look a bit headless chicken at times, but his pace creates so much more room for Holt and they seem to have an innate understanding that compensates for his negatives
Credit where it's due, quality thread guys well done! And in the nicest possible way hope the Norwich team don't match up to it;-)
For balance, QPR: Green, Traore, Hill, Ferdinand, Da Silva, Mackie, Diakite, Park, Hoilett, Cisse, Zamora. Subs: Murphy, Derry, Johnson, Taarabt, Wright-Phillips, Onuoha, Bosingwa.
I still have major doubts about Jackson at this level, we've just never seen enough from him. That said, I also have this nagging feeling that, with a decent run in the side, his finishing and the 'headless chicken' bit could improve. Thing is, to get a decent run, you need to grab your opportunities. Good one for him today, let's hope he's able to grab it!
