Watford FC vs Birmingham City FC

    Live on Sky Sports 2

"Gianfranco Zola's Watford welcome Birmingham City to Vicarage Road in the npower Championship. The sides played out a thrilling 2-2 draw when they met here last season."

    So Far...
    • Watford lost their last game against Ipswich Town courtesy of a 90th minute goal. Manager Gianfranco Zola conceded 'Absolutely, no doubt about it. It is a fair result and the team who played better today has won the game'.
    • The Blues also lost their previous game 3-2 to newly promoted Sheffield Wednesday. Manager Lee Clark stated 'I take responsibility for the team, the formation I went with'.

    News
'Orns boss Zola said that one bad result would not 'kill my enthusiasm'. Full Story.
Lee Clark backs Jack Butland after the errors made in the last game. Full Story.
Watford sign Marco Cassetti on a season-long loan. Could he be pivotal to this game? Full Story.
Swindon Town skipper set to join Birmingham City. Will he make an appearance this weekend? Full Story.

    Prediction
I think the 'Orns will be looking to recover from the shoddy performance against Ipswich but this will be matched by the hunger of the Blue's looking for their first league win of the season.
    2-2

    thanks for the thread D :) <applause>

I hope we are the team that played against Crystal Palace..i'd hate to sit through another Ipswich game, knowing that everyone will be watching! Up until last season, we played well in front of the cameras, last season we were poop! Let's hope we're back to normal on Saturday.

Not sure how to predict this one, so i'll say 3-1 with as much conviction as i can muster!

silky skills, penetrative accurate passing short and long but always to feet, greater than 50% in the possession stats and at least three goals to the good would make me a happy hornet...

I think the team will play a better game than against Ipswich and give the Blues a bloody nose.

    2-1 for the Golden Boys.

We still have a lot of new players bedding in ,(with more to come :)) we still have garner ,Yeates being picked ,New system that appears alien to some of last seasons players and understandably so. I` m hoping that with a bit of luck we can get a 1-1 and secure 4 pts from 1st 3 games which would be a very reasonable return .

Oh D, making match threads now I see. You've gone up in the world! I'll try and catch this one due to my watford and birmingham connections, I reckon that the blues are taking a lot longer to adapt under clark than you are under Zola and you'll edge this 1-0 or 2-1

I'd like to see a change up front. Garner can't play in this league, well not for us anyway.

They've just billed it as Zola v Clark on Sky, forgetting the fact that between 22 and 28 players will actually play the match.

Haha I noticed that too, probably just trying to build hype from namedropping Zola. In other news, Sordell is performing well even if his first Bolton goal was a bit scuffy

Quietly concerned after last weeks display, or lack of, shall be watching with interest, gotta say, we have to show more of this passing style in every game. According to Marks we had a few moments, I'm asking for a spell of dominance with passing. Will be interesting to see who plays too, not many of the ten new signings have actually appeared as of yet!

Nice thread D, well done. Very difficult to call this one, with 2 sets of players wanting to impress a new manager, I imagine it will be a bit scrappy and maybe a bit fiery at times - JE had better take care! I will go for a 2-1 victory to The Hornets and I hope MK gets an appropriate amount of abuse.

Hopefully we can stream the game on some obscure web site!
