Although I'm a jealous as hell about this... Genuine good luck to you guys.. you have the right manager always was a great appointment. NOW? some brilliant buys. Even as a rival fan, I wish you all the best. A dog with two ***** enjoy what could be a very good season.
Cheers PM, owt on Owen joining up with the skyscraper? I always thought they could be very good together.
cheers PM, you were the voice of reason during a bit of argy bargy last season, good to see your still a mod and keeping your finger on the pulse. All the best for the coming season and I fancy you to get something tomorrow. Hope you too are as happy as a dog with two cocks after the Arsenal match
Owen? Not fussed tbh fella's apparently he wants around 75 grand a week... would love to see it happen in my heart who would'nt? My head say's we've a tough season on our hands. And also Owen won't sign. But seem's Huddlestone is another Demba Ba it's now OFF. Has a dodgy ankle, like Ba has/or did have two dodgy knees. Sure we'll give Arsene the usual warm welcome and give it a right go! it won't be for the want of trying. And watching Stoke is TRYING!
75k he's having a laugh. We were the first to have Whinger chucking his water bottle about. hahaha So your lot will have to do something extra special to make him whinge.
Wow, Wow, Wow....just out of bed here in Ozzie land and I am blown away....it's HUGE!!! Well done MON and Ellis, well done AJ, well done the guy who sold him the petrol to drive to Sunderland, WELL DONE to everyone.....I am officially excited....i've got tears in my eyes just thinking about how ***ing unbelievable this is. Somedays supporting SAFC is the best feeling in the world....today is one of them. And for those who say calm down, its only one player, keep your feet on the ground and any other kill joys....it's not just getting AJ the player, it's the statement of intent, it's the drawing power that it shows we now have, it's the "quality not quantity" that we have been promised.
Well he's undoubtedly a great player with laods of potential to improve, but he's yet to play a game for you, he's played less than 100 top flight games and he isn't holding down a regular England spot, declaring him the 'Best player in the NE' is well, optimistic at best, but for want of a better word, a little deluded...Hence the reason I asked you were being intentionally ironic.
As a Toon fan, I cannot tell you how lucky you will be if you avoid signing this absolute oxygen thief... Owen said "I'd rather sit on a bench for a good team, than play week in week out for a poor one, been there, done that" - clearly a reference to us...We paid the ungrateful **** £105k a week, we had European football and we paid all of his medical/rehabilitation bills. Owen suggested people shouldn't judge him at his time at Newcastle, as his 'heart wasn't really in it' ... I reiterate £115k a week and the Captaincy, not to mention the fact he is a PROFESSIONAL footballer. Owen was injured more than he was fit, he started well but faded to near obscurity and it hurt to watch him strolling around the pitch against Villa the day we went down, the **** didn't even break sweat! I don't wish injury upon him as I don't want to give him an excuse for the reason his career to will fizzle out and pathetically die! Hatred is not a strong enough word!
Congrats on signing a very good player. Would have preferred to see him stay with us, but have to respect his decision to move because he wants regular football. He's had some outstanding performances with us, but also quite a few below average ones as well. Has been effective when coming off the subs bench more often than he has been when he's started, but I don't think too much needs to be read into that. He is without doubt extremely talented, and in the right system (for him) can and will be very effective. And I absolutely guarantee that when Sunderland play us, he will score! Over the course of a season, as a regular starter, he'll reach double figures easily in terms of goals.
So if Messi signed for us he wouldn't be the best player in the NE too? AJ quite clearly is the best player in the NE, just edging out Sess.
Nice one mate, I think playing every week in what's looking like a VERY attack minded side, will bring the lad on. Great for us, and great for England.
What I saw of him with you guys, I thought at times he looked like he had been told to stay on the wing and not dare to move. Which IMHO stifled him a bit. As when he did cut in and got his shot away he looked class, as we know all to well to our cost. But when it didn't go right he seemed to take more stick than he deserved unlike when your more high profile players messed up..
Ah well, Sunderland fan in preferring Sunderland players shocker... Agree to disagree...He's a different player to Ben Arfa, but I'd prefer Ben Arfa in our system...AJ is a better crosser and faster in a straight line sprint, Ben Arfa is more skillful and has better agility. I was speaking to my mate on the phone there (he's a mackem fan in the navy so had no idea about the signing) and discussing line ups...It'd be a risk dropping Larrson's set plays/delivery but realistically you'd have to play him in defence or in the center. Maybe McClean, Seb, Cattermole, AJ with Sess having a free role just behind Fletcher - good attacking team, but Cattermole would have a lot to do in CM
The thing is marra what is ironic is your saying your players are better and expecting me to accept it. Strange or what? As for Cattermole he knows his job and does it very well. If the referees start following the rules of the game and not just booking him because of his "rep" we will all see the best of him.
