Hi guys - new issue out soon (on sale at the Sunderland game). This years main charity is 'Francesca's Footsteps'. Little Francesca is just four years old and a condition called Diplegic Cerebral Palsy means she is unable to walk unaided, but a trip to America for specialist surgery would allow her to throw away her bright pink wheelchair and run around the school playground with her friends. Of course thereâs the small matter of raising the £45,000 required to make this life-changing dream a reality and a massive effort from Francescaâs family and friends has already raised £15,000. But thereâs still a long way to go and âA Touch Far Vetched!â will be working hard to contribute as much as possible to chip away at the remaining £30k required. So if you are at the match on Saturday week, go to the sail bridge and buy a copy of the fanzine; it's only a quid and you will be contributing to a truly worthy cause. Have posted this photo on another thread but am posting again here to give a taster of what to expect from the next issue. We will also be running many events during the season (the first of which has already sold out, sorry, but will give the posters on here plenty of advance warning in the future).
C'mon guys - give us some support here! Yes, I know have commented on my own post in a shameless attempt to keep it current, but feel quite strongly about this cause!
Thanks guys - here is a link to her 'Just giving' page. http://www.justgiving.com/francescasfootsteps/ Don't know how to post a link - am a bit of a technophobe!
Ok then Cartoon, this is a very worthwhile cause and it deserves to be added to the Swansea City Links announcment at the top of the page. Please keep us all appraised during the season as to when the issues go on sale and on how the fundraising is going on.
Will do Dilli - as well as the proceeds from sales of the fanzine, we have also organised a comedy night that has already sold out! There will be many more events that I will post on here! As for 'ATFV' we are aiming for 5 issues this season, and every one of your pounds will go toward the cause! So please continue to support our modest lil fanzine - alone we are nothing - but together we can achieve something quite special!
Good man Cartoon. I'm going to post a thread to vote for stickys, if people want to keep or get rid of them and let democracy rule. Until that decision is made by our posters I will make this thread a sticky even of it turns out to be temporary. At least it should help you bring this cause to everyone's attention and it will of course at the very least remain in the links at the top of the page
Cartoon just read the just giving page, a very worthwhile cause and i hope you are able to raise all that you wish for with this , good luck mate you will have my support
Can I just say, the guys from ATFV brought a truck-load of presents to the Children's Ward I work on last Christmas and if that isn't a good reason to buy it and give (if you can), then I don't know what is. Good work guys!
Hi Musty - Many thanks for the donation, much appreciated. And you will get a copy if you go to the sail bridge before the Sunderland match! Thanks for the support guys!
