I can better that! Lost a top of the range Alfa Romeo GTV6 to an uninsured young driver that jumped the lights on Oystermouth road, I had owned the car just 7 days, from Eric Ashmoles showroom, the car was on cover note, being referred to underwriters, waiting for approval for fully comprehensive, as it was such a high insurance group, guess what on hearing of the accident, the underwriters would only cover third party fire and theft, my broker Douglas had previously assured me, he would have comprehensive cover in place, but was full of excuses as I was left high and dry by the insurance company, that loss stood me £16000.00 which set me back a few years, I can tell you. At the end of the day there are more important issues in life! I had a phone call today, to tell me that my good friend Simon had lost his ten year fight against a brain tumour, he passed away today at the age of 41, leaving a young wife and children, a really great lad, who was always a pleasure to be in the company of, and will be sorely missed by family and friends, kind of puts things into perspective....................
Get one of the vehicles repaired, which has the smallest repair bill, whether that be your good ladies or yours, then give yourself a few months to catch up on the repair of the most costly damage, unless of course you want to give your credit card a hit (Not recommended). By the way that's some excess you have there, not sure I'd buy such a policy, but the Insurance crooks, are tucking up younger drivers these days!.................
Figure out which direction the culprit was going by the way the accident occured ... figure out what his escape routes could be & check any shops camera on those routes . My buddy finally found the guy , leaving the scene , from a pizza joint's camera . P.S. About a year later the culprit couldn't collect insurance on damage to one of his vehicles , no camera's for that one that my buddy had nothing to do with !
Awoke this morning to find somebody has smashed into my parked car, pushing mine into my wife to be's car and driven off. Hell of a mess. Not happy. Now a good poster has left here because of the tiniest of issues. It wasn't me
