A few people are getting fed up of so many sticky's, do we need them all? The Besian prediction league needs to remain, and the joke thread is good. What about the others? Maybe unstick and keep them up on merit? Gauging others opinions before action is taken.

I was thinking the same thing but was reluctant to say anything because I'd be accused of having a vendetta by some. The 'proper' threads are appearing well down the page and that can't be good. If anyone is taking an interest in the current stickies they'll move up the page on merit as someone else has said.
Voice your opinions with no fear please Aussie. Ash has just come up with something I've thought too, so your not alone in this. I think Mustys are good to keep as they can keep going all season long, perhaps we can unstick the others and then they'll appear on merit and I mean no disrespect to Phil, Swim or anyone else.
My personal view is that I'd like them all gone then threads would list on merit alone. I don't mean to upset anyone, apologies if I did, but I feel that threads should appear on their merit and stickys simply push them down the page. Maybe a link to all stickys could be added at the top of the thread listing. If the argument or concern then is that no one would use the link then this would simply show their irrelevance.
Ash, it looks like popular opinion is to unstick these mate as most people want to see the up to date threads. I do agree with you regarding Musty's prediction league though. I'll unstick the others (we can always stick them again if we have to) if that's ok with you and Mabon.
Excellent decision to remove most stickies. The Forum is now neater, and more welcoming. Well done mods.

Mods, I liked the joke thread - was going to copy a few to send to my friends now they've GONE!! Are they still somewhere on the forum?
The thing about " Standing on merit " ... Is the ability to stand , where did they go ? ... Oops , just seen the joke thread . Still what does it matter if there's a few " Extra " sticky's , most boards have them .
Because many stickies are rubbish and don't deserve to be there. Many stickies don't even get commented on very often, so there is no point to them being there. But the mods still have their favorite posters and they will get to have stickies in the future. Guaranteed. The thing is some of the mods hate threads that are successful and that lots of people comment on if they're not made by the teacher's pet.
Perhaps the mods should merge the sticky threads. After all they are always complaining about duplicate threads. Just think of all that time you're wasting having to read them all. One thread on sticky opinion is enough.
