I did read an article not sure where that Laudrup wanted two wingers. He's expecting Sinclair to go so a replacement for him and plus another one as he wants to have four players for the wing positions.
Would prefer Hernandez if I'm honest. He's experienced, has worked with Laudrup before and we know he can play and play well at this level. Ince is a great prospect but unproven at the top level. With £60 million at stake, I would like to see someone who can make an immediate impact, leaving us to chase players like Ince next season when we have consolidated our position. Don't misunderstand me, I think Ince is a hot prospect and it would be good to see him here - and he's British, which would help with the domestic ratio. It's just that right now, I would be happier with proven experience. Nice if we could afford and accommodate both.
Agree, that Hernandez is my number 1 choice. Have a feeling though that ML will go for Hernanadez and Ince.
Still in for Hernandez apparently http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11731/8012095/Laudrup-hopeful-on-signings
Being British ince will probably cost just as much as hernandez, I'd definitely go for the latter if that is the case.
In my personal opinion Ince has the potential to be far better than Hernandez. Top player who can score goals, has the attributes to play top level football and is only 20 years old. Not forgetting Hernandez is 7 years older than Ince, and we have considerable sway over with the Dobbie situation. One pool fan I spoke to rates dobbie so highly that they think he'll guarantee them a top 2 place this season. May be crazy but he fits into the Blackpool formation like lock and key, he could be the difference for them this season, and they'll have a healthy chunk of money for a replacement. I'd take either play very happily. Both would be a waste as Dyer is going to prove himself to the England set up this season and should be a regular. If Theo Walcott can then Dyer can if he shows the finishing touch he did on Saturday. Routledge was just as good.
Hernandez isn't much of a goal threat imo either, that is what Sinclair gave us. Hope DG10 has his penalty taking skills on the ready haha
From the video that was linked on this forum, Hernandez not only has an eye for goal that is sharper than Sinclair's, but he has tighter, sharper ball control than Sinclair and an ability to beat players in a number of different ways. If not from the penalty spot, last season Sinclair couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
We all know Sinclair can finish... look at his Championship season, goal against chelsea last season for example. He is overrated outside of Swansea and Hernandez is better than him. But Sinclair scored more goals this season than Hernandez in his whole career
How many of Sinclair's goals in the Championship season were penalties - subtract those and what do you have left. Last season he was nowhere near as effective anywhere near goal. His best hope is that ML's new approach for wingers playing more inside and the way we move the ball faster going forward will create more space for him to play and more opportunities for him to score, like last Sat. The big question for me on Sinclair is - was last season's performance caused by the step up in level or the style of play we adopted where wingers where tethered to the touch line and we passed ourselves to death in the defensive and middle thirds.
