    Hull manager Steve Bruce:

"For all our good football and the way we are defensively, if you don't score and take the chances somewhere like here, it's going to be a frustrating night for you.

"I think after being at the club a few weeks, that's going to be our Achilles heel."

Achilies heel = Fryatt? is this a message in disguise as Matty is where the goals are...

This same speach has been given by Nigel Pearson - Nick Barmby and now Steve Bruce. Time for things to change and quick.

Natty Fryatt isn't the total answer, we had him last year and still missed out. Him returning will help of course. Just let the team settle, Fryatt, Aluko, Simpson & Koren, the goals will come. Mind you another good striker & midfield player would help.

    Same ****. Different manager.

Only this time he's pissed £2.6m up the wall on a completely unknown and unproven solution.

Like Phil Brown said last night, would you spend the £2.6m on Prossy or £2.6m on wages for someone like Kazim-Richards or an alternative loan deal?

We're two games in, lets judge Proschwitz, the team and manager after a couple of months eh?

I'm afraid Proschwitz(or Progshwitz as he was named on the screen last night) isn't a £2.6m player, he may well settle and improve, but he can't get more than three inches off the deck and he's far too easily knocked off the ball, however much he improves in the next couple of months, I'm afraid he'll never be worth his price, he simply hasn't got the natural attributes.

He was half decent in the first half, as long as he had the ball at his feet and he can definitely hit the ball hard, but he was completely anonymous in the second half and should have been pulled way earlier(the timing of the substitutions last night were really poor, we should never go out and play for a draw, it doubles the chance of losing).

Browns the last to talk about pissing money on crap. I would not pay 2p for Kazim-Richards. FFS by dead Gran could have scored that goal. Its far too early to pick holes in the Proschwitz deal. Give the lad time. Only at the end of the season will we know if its been money well spent or not.

id loved to be proved wrong, but i dont think prozzy or aluko will get close to double figures from what ive seen ..
aluko snatched at 3 great chances last night, natural goalscorers dont snatch he will be more of a creater with his runs etc....
simpson deserves a chance up top saturday, and the sooner fryatt is back the better, he has his faults but i reckon hed have scored last night with at least one of them

French you are so right about Browny, if he had made good decisions he would still be here. I don't think the big guy is worth £2.6 mill, but I'll wait to be proved wrong. Two games for christ sake, lets calm it a bit.

I also think we need to give NP time to settle, strikers are more expensive that other positions on the field, is Carrol worth what Liverpool paid for him, or will Fletcher be worth what Sunderland are paying? What a lot of people might not take into consideration is what wages these guys are on, not only the transfer fee paid. Adebayor for 5 million what Spurs are reported to have paid seems a snip, but his wages push up the total cost of any player. Time will tell whether NP is worth his fee plus wages, but overall for a striker, if he turns out half decent then will not be a bad investment.

On 5 Live after the game last night, Brucey defended the signing on junior, on the basis that he'd played over 300 games in the Championship.

He's adding 50 games for each times he plays now.

Note to Steve, it's 155 appearances mate. <ok>

I'm doubling and adding 10, as he has lucid dreams about each match he plays in - often twice for ones where he's played well in. So by my reckoning that means he's made each appearance at least twice.

so far Proschwitz hasn't looked much better than Manucho.. and that's worrying.. I think perhaps the npc is "slightly" better than the German B2?

the problem is how many times will Bruce persevere with Proscwhitz while not performing to his transfer fee ???

Amos , Aluko Faye and his lad have so far been good enough improvements to the squad so lets not get on his case too early -

All these remarks re the team and their performance is just criticism of your own earlier expectations. Bruce has a 50% win record so far ***???##!. Give them a chance, look at our starts recently.

The one thing im liking despite a defeat against a Blackburn team away, littered with premiership quality is Bruces honesty and the fact he's looking to address the teams main weakness, hopefully before the transfer window closes we'l have much more of an attacking threat and a bit of drive.

Dont think were that far from being a very strong team in this league.

Fryatt does exactly what the other players did last night - tame shots at the keeper. Last night Robinson faced 5 shots from good position inside the area and 4 times he just had to pick it up at his feet. The 5th was Proschwitz's shot which looked decent and actually forced a proper save and a corner, but apart from that it was our usual pathetic finishing.

I think thats the salient point about this signing, the Championship has got to be a much tougher division than the second tier in Germany. Is 1 in 2 goalscoring for one season in that league a real sign of quality? Plus the lad is 25 with at least half a dozen clubs already. I think he is intelligent so there is a chance he can succeed but after the pre-season games and the three proper matches we've had there is a sum total of zero goals and some scratchy efforts on goals so far. I said before I don't know who we else we could have signed but this lad was a big risk with the get-out clause of selling back to Germany if his reputation from last year stands up. I don't buy this only three games into the season stuff as he had plenty of games v the village teams pre-season. I'm a big fan of Germany apart from the obvious negatives in their history and would love a German to be a success for us to help break down prejudices that a lot of daft people still have to this day regarding Germans and have got everything crossed that he can be a real success for us.

We can have all this negativity about Fryatt maybe not being the solution because of what's happened in previous Seasons with him but the question is, have we played him with a target man up front yet?

Under Pearson, he played alongside McLean, who indeed, has an amazing leap but isn't exactly target man material... Under Barmby, he was a lone striker, meaning he had quite a lot more work and running to do around the area instead of making runs into it.

How can we say that the situation isn't solved when the team hasn't fully settled and Bruce hasn't really tried the real formation and player set up yet because of injuries? Can't we hold the harsh criticism and conclusion jumping until when the Season really gets on?

Bruce has lost one bloody competitive game against a strong Blackburn side away from home by 1 goal to 0. We beat both Brighton and Rotherham. Proschwitz did look as though he could get off the ground IMO. He's won some good headers and has been great at holding the ball up and distributing it. There's nothing to worry about as it's early days.

2 games, it's only 2 ****ing games. Anyone on here who is proclaiming they know whether someone who has just joined our club is worth their fee/wages or not after 2 games is delusional.
