Seems to be a lot of noise regards DJ coming here. Pitman going to Burnley. Good deal all round if this comes off. I like Brett and think he will score goals in the championship. Del does not rate him,so best he moves on. DJ on the other hand has done it and works his socks off, something Del likes I think
Fair enough if Del thinks it's best. Would personally like us to keep Pitman, although DJ Campbell is a very good striker.
Totally agree Banksy, lets concentrate on a quality CH, we have enough strikers to score the goals, now need someone to prevent them.
Agree we need a CB although they played well yesterday its hard to pick someone to partner fonts who's reliable, we all love Carey and I wish he was 10 years younger but we do need that dominant cb I seen on Sunday in The People we were linked with monk again but don't think he is the answer at 33 Although I wouldn't mind swapping dj for pitman, can't see Brett getting games and his talent is wasted on the bench, but ill be more than happy if he stays Baldock Davies ......Pitman Playing the 3 upfront like that may work?
Only a suggestion, I don't think we will ever see 3 upfront like that anyway, del likes his target man involved
Can't really think of any decent, first ball winning, right footed centre backs that wouldn't cost a fortune to sign? If Amougou is training with the squad then he would look the most likely target... If Del thinks he isn't a total nutter then fair enough.
Amougou seems to be moving in the same way as Mark Wilson Get them training with us so Del can have a good look, I know he had him last year. But was told last night he was a stone and half over weight when he came back training with us. I would like to make sure he lost that before signing him. Also got a reputation that once he joins he loses it a bit. Good time to access it. Also a few more wins, I know we will be past the deadline but loanees will want to join us with views to sign if they think we are going to be on the up. I trust Del knows what he wants, he stated that he needs a good right sided CB so probably got someone in mind that none of us know about. And rumour has it DJ Campbell was a smoke screen to get Baldock moving quicker.
No other teams have come in for Amougou have they? Possible Short term deal with an extension based on appearences or something to keep him trying might be worthwhile.. Like you said though, only if he can get himself in shape and impress Del.
We have just bought two strikers why would we spend more money on another striker when areas like the defence needs looking at
I reckon he want in here, del has said get yourself back in shape and a deal is possible. All I know is Bikey was very influential last season on loan.i really think he would be a outstanding addition.
It seems that after having a limited selection for ages, we now have an embarrassment of riches up front. Would be nice to see Brett stay and fight for his place but the 2 new signings probably mean that we need to recoup some dosh and he will be better off having a go elsewhere. We know he has goals in him so if he does go I wish him all the very best (except against us) and I do hope that he has learnt some professionalism from DM, someone called him a slob on here recently and I did notice last night that the stubble was gone and a new haircut was in evidence.... As for Campbell whilst I would have said yes last week, we have added 2 bright and young strikers to mix and match with the current crop so with great and genuine respect and in the nicest possible way, we really don't need him...
Sell Brett and buy a centre back and a midfield general. Then we will have a side to chase for promotion
Rickster 100% agree,we are not far away from being a very very good side, two additions we will be on the button. Promotion tilt next season defiantly, this season who knows.
There's a rumour you are competing with Palace to sign Darcy Blake from us. He plays across the whole back four and as centre back for Wales - kept Rooney quiet at Wembley a year ago. We, the fans, want him to stay but with us signing Connolly from QPR he could go down the pecking order again. Darcy wants regular first team games to cement his place in the Wales side. He would do a good job for you, rarely loses in the tackle or gets beaten on the ground although is not as tall as some and could be taken in the air by some tall centre forwards (Stead would give him a hard time). I don't know what Palace are offering but as we got £350k for Gerrard then Darcy is worth £500k+. Top Palace by £50k and he's yours.
