A draw against Brighton wasn't the worst possible outcome of our Tuesday night trip but it was a moral booster for our next opponents - the Wurzels. A 4-1 demolition of Palace was a good result after a mauling at the hands of Gillingham and a opening day defeat to Forest. But lets gets this clear, we're not Palace, a team who have sold most of their best players and are now bottom of the league. We haven't conceded, mainly thanks to Marshall, and this is usually the time of year where we crush Bristol by at least three goals. They will however be bolstered by the signing of Baldock from the Spammers and Davies from Derby. I reckon this will be closer than usual.... Oh, Swamp... Credit where credit due BLUEBIRDS has completed back to back CS to top the first division. Impressive. However, newly promoted Dom has done exactly the same thing and both sit locked together on 7 points, already three points clear of the chasers. The early season leaders will be looking to equal Captain Hooks record of 3 straight CS in the next game. Surely one of them will do it? Irish and Masked follow close behind on 4 with Siam one point short of them on three. Blueforever, will had an impressive run in Div 2 last year brings up the rear with nil points, so far unable to recapture that form. Early days however... In Division 2 it is a far tighter affair. New boy Red Bluebird has edged a point ahead of Bluebanna to take the early season lead all to himself. Several hangovers from last season as Bfb, Sparkey, Thai, and Exile are all still looking to kick start their seasons. Changes in Rules To make the league more interesting you now need to predict the Cardiff Goal Scorers to match your prediction as well. The Correct Scores and Correct Results stay the same as last year. Scoreline CS = 3 pts CR = 1 pts Scorers You get a point for every correct scorers you predict to a maximum of 3. You get an extra point if you predict an exact situation, both scorers and scoreline. So you can now claim a max of 7 points by guessing a 3 -0 scoreline and all Cardiff scorers right. You can predict the same scorer twice. If you get a 0-0 right you get four points.
Wondered how long it would be before one of you popped over. I agree Swamps effort is quite unlikely. I think you might score but doubt you'll win.
Seriously having watched city for many many years that was the best we have played for a long long time. Del has put together a very capable and dangerous squad. We could be the surprise package this year.
You were all moaning bout him a week ago! http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/162084-Gillingham-New-beginning-shattered If you say so Red, but personally after watching City stuff you so many times (bar that 3-0 reverse under DJ) I'll beleive it when I see it I was always really impressed with Paul Anderson at Forest. Hows he doing? Good Luck
The Wurzels have amassed a strong strikeforce and they will be more danger to us than Huddersfield or Brighton - another test for our back 4 and keeper. However, their defence is not great so hopefully we will look more like scoring as Bellers, HH et al get more game time and gel. Looks like we were unlucky (i.e.their keeper made some good saves, as did Marshy) not to score last night. There are goals in this one so 3 - 2 to Cardiff for me with Bellers, HH and Velikonja to notch for us. Probably by a nil/nil again now!!!
Not reading too much into last night. I'm sure the Wurzels played well but it was Palace?... a little perspective please. whereas we haven't kicked into gear yet so... 0-2 Bluebirds Whitts + HH cheers Sheep
Lots of 2-0 for Cardiff on here, so im going for 2-1 Cardiff remember stead always scores against us !!! Helguson x 2
Not thinking too hard about this prediction lark, bit of a lottery but good fun. I don"t think we will concede just yet, and I am not convinced that we will score either. 1-2 Cardiff! HH and Gunnarsson possibly please.
