You's must be happy with a few of the names you have been linked with, however you have brought in what? 7 players?

Bring in 4 more thats a new team!! A team that has to gel which could take months

Take it from a Sunderland fan whos supported through the Bruce regime, it doesnt work!!

Unless hughes has some ideas then good luck, seriously gonna need it

I would be prepared for a rough couple of months lads

No offence, but this is the second time you have posted almost exactly the same thing on here. You have a point, but does it bear repeating?

Hopefully our management is a cut or ten above Steve Bruce and will bed new players in quickly, though last Saturday and the ensuing mayhem on here show it wont always be plain sailing. Dont think its panic buying though - we have been linked with loads of players all summer, it takes a bit longer than 2 days to get things in place.

You seem to be at the opposite end of the scale - who is scoring your goals this season?

Just curious if yous want more players in or want to stop and let the players settle? Sorry missed that from the end

And we do have problems up front
However i think Fletcher is finally on the way
The reports about berba are rubbish imo
Been linked with defoe who i am doubtful of
And John Guidetti who im not really a fan of...
    Fancy giving us cisse back?

Did you know that Junior Hoilett has just said on SSN that he choose QPR over Liverpool, Newcastle and Sunderland

Unfortunately Saturday showed he has a point. It will take around 8-10 games for these guys to gel but once they do we'll be fine.

This summer we let several championship standard players go and replaced them with older experienced Premiership players. It had to be done. It is well known that a lot of transfer activity happens in the last week of the window when clubs have to shown their hand and players become available. One transfer usually triggers several more. There is no doubt that MH was looking at defenders but they may be only coming available now. The players we have been linked with in the last few days are all top quality and can't be described as panic buys

In answer to your question Ji, as I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are not a WUM, yes, we are cocnerned that the players won't 'gel' in time, but that said, if we end up with Dawson and Carvalho or Mbia etc. and they take 3-5 games to gel, that will most likely be better than the partnership of Hill and Ferdinand over the remaining 37 games.

Especially as three of the games they will have to gel in are against Tottenham, Citeh and Chelsea, games that we were unlikely to pick up points from anyway.

I'd welcome any new player who s better than the ones we already have. Hands off Cisse, though his mojo was severely lacking last Saturday.

Did you know that you offered £50,000 a week wages for a player who had only had one succesful season in the premiership?

We are just going keep on going until we get it right it seems that is never quantifiable ... Man City being the best example but I can guarantee you that is where QPR is heading... We technically have more money than Man City and this first phrase willI agree be bumpy .. I think in 5 years QPR will be challenging for honours and have a state of the art 45,000 stadium in West London .. Our Owners wouldn't be in it otherwise ... alas we will be mega hated but that is the sad side of football now. So fickle and so demanding is the football in the world market that this is now the way ... Rich people wanting ego success on the world stage. Tony F is only the face on our monster my friend.
I wouldn't worry about us if i was you I would be praying that you too can find a buyer because within 10 years it will be all about London and clubs worth a mint that have a global brand . I consider Sunderland and Newcastle fans to be the last stand against this machine ... we are already being processed ... look at this board talking about this player that player ... Its already being turned into a throw away thing ... we will buy our success now and then try and produce our own but I fear for that as the pool of world players will always be greater. We will just be turning out footballing units to sell to the Championship or other leagues ... thats entertainment!

Sunderland and Newcastle are massive clubs and will survive this I am sure ... well Newcastle are already doing it I personally hope Sunderland stay with it all. West Ham and Charlton will be next as the world's rich look to grow their own ego dreams ... London will have at least 8 Super clubs IMO within ten years

Taking that a bit further, I don't think it's reasonable to compare QPR at the moment to Bruce-era Sunderland. Sunderland didn't perform at all under Bruce and then magically clicked the moment the Martin O'Neill walked through the doors - implies it's more complex than simple gelling.

Also, we have had the majority or the players in for 2 months (AJ, Green, Nelson, Park). Diakite was here last season and Park and Hoilett have been here a while and were arguably our best players last weekend.

Some call it a glitch, some call it a disaster (spelling impending doom). That ones been done to death on here and we're all starting to finally pull together and look forward but the presence of 3 new players in the starting eleven last Saturday would not be enough to start attributing everything on the number of signings or the time they've had together. With the ball, while we were still in the game, there was some of the most promising football we've played for a while and without it we displayed a shocking sense of positional play (which in fairness we've shown sporadically over the last year anyway).

That doesn't ring bells about recent acquisitions to me. I still think it's a glitch. I don't doubt we'll have one or two more hiccups this season too. I also don't doubt we'll bring in one or two more players but if they're of the required quality (like Bosingwa is) then there should be little disruption.

Good post matt....I think the first 10 games are gonna be hit -or-miss with regards to team, gelling style of play etc, but there are too many good players to not get it right...

Really looking forward to our second half of the season TBH...onceits ironed out
