by Dan Kilpatrick August 21st, 2012 QPR are poised to beat Manchester United and Chelsea to the signature of Saint-Etienne starlet Kurt Zouma, according to French newspaper LâEquipe. United and Chelsea sent scouts to watch Zouma during his sideâs 2-1 defeat at Toulouse on Saturday night, where they watched the defender concede a penalty for a foul on Toulouseâs Emmanuel Riviere. However, both United and Chelsea are set to be trumped by QPR, with the Loftus Road side reportedly willing to fork out a fee somewhere between £9.5m and £11.8m for the 17-year-old, who has been capped by France at under-16, under-17 and under-19 levels. Saint-Etienne officials believe a fee in that region would be too good to turn down, paving the way for Zouma to move to Loftus Road. SOURCE: talkSPORT !!!!!
Even if we pay out half the amounts being bandied about, it's clear that either Sparky's been keeping his powder dry money-wise or TF's had a fit of the willies after Saturday and quadrupled the player purchasing budget
Double signing ! 20 million! Think I read Zouma has a footballing brother - perhaps we are getting Zoom Zoom. Hope you got these Saab's ready for them Dave?
With it looking like we're getting rid of Barton I don't think we want his kind at the club. Apparently his dad, Jacob, is responsible for killing 44 miners in South Africa???
Seriously? What his Dad may or may not have done doesn't have anything to do with him. "his kind", jesus....
I was hoping we'd have all our business done and dusted by now and we could sit back and watch all the other sides panic buying!
Problem is, when clubs or players see we've got deep pockets, they'll always hang on until the last minute to squeeze the extra £
If it sounds too good to be true.....? Agree re the panic buying. There are always last minute signings but that does not mean that the negotiations may not have been going on for weeks before. Either way, I am happy that Sparky has not completed business yet.
