with a string of results all necessary pens to paper will be sorted in the next couple of games, dont want to jinx it but 3 points on Saturday ........... ARE POSSIBLE.... AND 13 POINTS IN THE FIRST 10 ACHIEVABLE Always said Ryan was a good'un....lets hope he progresses. COME ON YOU Redzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Ryan is most certainly a good'un. I do feel a tinge of sadness about Pitman though. I'd say loan him out if we didn't need the money...
pitters should be a key figure in the squad...4-5 strikers always good policy as is 7-8 back 4 players.
I agree that we'd be fools to get rid of Pitman, and we have a bit of a reputation for quickly discarding strikers. It wouldn't surprise me if this reputation would stop future prospects from joining us. If Pitman isn't going to get game time then I think a loan move for three months would be a good call. I really want Pitman to stay with us, but it seems McInnes just doesn't like the guy.
When you say . Do you really mean he doesnt like him? or He feels the others are currently in better form / more adept at complimenting the current formation?
A bit of both I suppose. When McInnes joined the fan rumour mill stated that he had a few words with a group of players that he felt weren't take training seriously enough. Pitman has had flashes of good football for us, but he's never really been given a consistent chance at the club under McInnes. He's got the makings of a top Championship goalscorer, but only if he gets to play. I either think that McInnes wants him gone, or wants him to prove himself. Ideally, if he leaves then I'd like it to be on loan to another team at this level, otherwise we're paying wages to a man we'll probably never play.
I say loan him out, he might be able to show Del that he can become interested, just needs to stop looking like he ain't interested and fight a bit. Looking at our forwards now take Stead out of the 5 and we have a young attacking forward line. Should hopefully bode our future a bit.
Not forgetting of course that Stead is a Bristol City legend. I like Brett, but we need to lose him and buy a central defence and midfield general
To be honest, this just shows how a strong, visible work ethic on the pitch does wonders for the perception among fans and possibly the management. Stead has always looked like he'll work his socks off even for a club as unfancied as us (in recent seasons). Pitman is obviously talented and when the squad plays well he is a good bet to be on the end of a move. But when it's a close game or, even worse, a poor one, he seems laconic and lacking in positivity. This is why despite not being seen by any of us as an out-and-out goal scorer, Stead isn't being considered for vacating the team and Pitman is. Same can be said for Taylor - seized his opportunities with aplomb.
Let Pitman go, although I do rate him he is too inconsistent and can appear to be disinterested. We have enough quality up front without him now so best for all if he leaves IMO.
