"After seven years at Arsenal, centre back and midfielder Alex Song has proven to be a powerful figure who distributes the ball wonderfully " "Although he started out as a centre back, Song’s combination of powerful aerial play, rapid movements and solid defending also made him ideal as a defensive midfielder, a position where he is now regarded as one of the finest in the world. He is also extremely skilful and distributes the ball well." I think Barcelona are in for a little surprise I also found this pretty funny: "Being just 15 cm shy of two metres, he is also a valuable asset at set pieces." 15cm is quite a bit! Source: http://www.fcbarcelona.com/football...x-song-experience-versatility-power-and-skill So now they expect a big giant as a defensive midfielder. Looks like they will get none of it. Good Luck Song!
Instead they will get a lazy, slugish, sloppy bob sleigh team member... jokes aside, lets be fair hes pretty good! on his day
It's like saying, "Being just 6 inches shy of 6'7". Though considering the average height in Barca's team, he will be a giant.
for a team that is famous around the world for the quality of its passing............ Song will be a nice change for them. First day of training .... " what the f@ck ....!!!!? "
Rofl, the funny this is, he's definitely not one of the most solid, defensively, IMO. He's a good defensive mid, but his best qualities are starting attacks and creating things. He's not really that strong and certainly not great in the air. lol
Most bizarre transfer of the season? Did well for Arsenal, but certainly not one of our best players. Nowhere near Barca standards, although I think they will play him as a CB?
They play Busquets and Mascherano at CB at times mate, both of which aren't natural CB's. They're basically a team that will pass and pass and pass, keep possession and score, and they all know how to move for each other. They don't always need real defenders, just ones that know how to play under pressure and pass corrently. Like Man City. They commit men forward, and they have such confidence in their ability, but if one pass is off, then they're in trouble. Like when Rodwell gave the ball away, and Southampton scored. They need to make the perfect move, otherwise it's ****ed. Barca are the only team that can pull it off.
