Just a quick question as I read that Saints are lodging a £6 million bid for Matty, are we entitled to a sell on fee? Also, if we get some money and we sell Beever has the trust said if we will put that money into the team or will it pay off some debts?

The answer I am hoping for is we get 10-15% for Matty and all money goes into signings and wages. I still have my eye of Hayes.

I'm sure we had a 15% sell on clause with Phillips.

As far as I know the Trust have not said anything about what will happen to incoming fees, but I would be surprised if much of it stayed with the club. I would expect most, if not all, of it will go towards paying off Hayes.

As for Paul Hayes, would love to have him but he won't drop down to league 2 even if we could afford him.

Does anyone think we would replace Beavon when he leaves? My impression is that Waddock has already done all of his business on the assumption that Beavon would've gone by now. I don't see us being able to afford any more new players.

I am pretty sure the Trust stated at the meetings in the summer that any transfer fees coming in would be used to repay the debt to Steve Hayes, whether that is due to a clause in the agreement of the "gifting" of the club by Steve Hayes or a prudent financial approach I don't know. My guess is the former.

In terms of Phillips I think that is one thing Hayes always did pretty well in negotiating sell on clauses. No doubt we would have one.

I would think they would look to replace Beavon should he go, I don't think we have the luxury of being able to sign (financially) the "replacement" before selling him. I would guess it is more of a one out one in when it comes to wages on the better players.

I agree with Finchy. I would think that it is likely any money from a Phillips sale would go to paying off our debts to Hayes or whatever. Im happy with that. I would happily take a solid mid table consolidation season and Hayes paid back = limited debt for the club. I also think Beavon will leave (still 2 weeks to close of transfer window) and I think his transfer fee too, will go towards paying debts. I reckon Waddock will try to get another striker in on a season long loan, maybe a youngster from a London club.

Dont think we should hope for too much this season in all honesty. Ive been speaking to Exeter fans who's fans Trust took over a few years back and they said it took them a couple of seasons to get everything back on track.

Still, could be worse - we could be looking at double relegations, 10 point deductions and administration playing in a mostly empty Wasps nest stadium at Booker. Its all good really!! <party>

I thought (might be wrong) we had a 25% of the profit from the sale with Phillips, but it was all going into Hayes' pocket.

Also hearing that PNE have stalled in their quest to sign beavon, they were only offering 250k (derisory) but we were wanting 400k.

Rumours courtesy of the Gasroom, so must be true.

Well 25% of 5-6 million would be great and I agree that it should go to pay off the debts. However if Beavon goes then we need a replacement but as Wander says I think Waddock has done his business for this season (barring loan signings). I just hope McClure can get an injury free run as I rate him very highly.

I also agree with the majority and would be happy to have a safe mid-table season and get some stability back.

I thought that I read during the transfer of ownership that money from the sale of players would go back into the team. Not sure if all of it would though!

We will get a percentage of what blackpool make on the sale, so if it was £500k (i cant rememeber how much he went for) and he went for £6m we will get a percentage of £5.5m, I think it was 10% = £0.55m.

Of course, when I win tonight's Euromillions, none of this will be a problem as I'll immediately wipe the debt.

Any money that we receive from the sale of players that were sold under the ownership of Steve Hayes will go directly to him to pay off the debt. Any money we receive for our players now under the ownership of the Trust will be reinvested into the team.

Doesn't matter how much Matt Phillips goes for because Gary Waddock won't be seeing that money.
