Who would you play? Epecially remembering we have Chelsea 2 days later (Cheers FA)!

I was thinking something like:

Krul

Simpson
Williamson
Perch
Raylor

Anita
Amilifitano (Or however you spell it)
Obertan
Gutierrez

Ba
Sammy

Maybe put an experienced bench on with Cisse, Cabaye, Saylor, Santon, Bigi (Lad from coventry).

I have been told HBA isnt available due to a previous supension he picked up while with Marseille so he cant play and i think Shola is injured? It might be good to give Colo a bit more time to get to full fitness aswell..

Thoughts?

 

Nobody whose due to start on Saturday is likely to start here imo. So Tav instead of Simmo, Elliott/Harps over Krul, No Jonas, and a young striker/Shola over Ba. It makes sense because Pards will want to use this weeks training teaching the gameplan for Sunday to the first team, since there's no chance to do so between the two games. Saturday is a very very tough game, so he'll want to make sure every player is fully focussed on it. I'd expect the team playing on Thursday are training separately, probably with JC, to get the different tactics.

 

Sammy isn't fit.

 

Don't have to worry about a pitch invasion then.

 

I do have a feeling that we will try and mix a bit of experience in there in some places though... maybe a Ba or Gutierrez somewhere...

Its actually quite annoying not knowing anythign about this team or hwo they play..

 

Unless one of our fans throws a handful of coppers onto the pitch i think its pretty safe

 

I thought AP had said that only fringe players will travel? I can't see Krul and Ba especially travelling to sit even on the bench then jetting back to face Chelsea? Although it does beg the question of who we will be putting up front?

 

Exactly.. As much as id prefer us to play as many younger players as we can, we still need someone to put the ball away.. This is the kind of game Leon Best would have been perfect for...

Haha and i completely forgot about Willo was trying to figure who i wanted in the squad instead of Saylor.

So back 4 of Tav, Good, Willo, Raylor with Perch and Dummett on the bench.

 

I reckon Marveaux/Vuckic/amalfitano are nailed on starters given their lack of involvement at the weekend - and from what Pardew has said in interviews about them, I'd also imagine Raylor, Willo etc will add experience, and Shola if fit. Interested to see if Ferguson will start?

 

Hope ferguson does get a chance.. When he did actually get a chance to play last season he looked pretty decent.

 

Yeah totally agree - I think it's make or break season for kids like him and vuckic.

Would be my pick. If Shola wasn't fit I'd use Campbell or Obertan up top. However I think Gosling and Obertan will definetly play, and there is a good chance Vuckic will start too. I'd take Anita, Good, Campbell along and keep it to fringe players wherever possible. I think we may see a smattering of experienced players to be honest. They are likely to be very defensive, very agressive and run all day being greek and you may need more hardy types like Jonas, Simpson.

 

Everywhere in San Antonio is showing the bindipper game.. Bar one. The owner is an Evertonian. A happy one at that.
