thinking back on all the key players who have been bought from swansea in the last 5 years , i can't really think of any who have gone on to bigger and better things? and some have been desperate to get back to the club as moving away has gone horribly wrong.

can anyone help me out with the ones which have done well from moving away?

Trundle , Leon (short spell away) , Scotland , Robinson , De Vries
All did exceptionally well after leaving the swans I think. Please correct me if I am wrong!

Only one I can think of is Britton , purely tongue in cheek though . Players seem to get lost when they move on from the Swansea concept of team play , it's amazing really . I think players know this and it's why no one has really left over them seasons unless shown the door .

Sam Ricketts did okay, considering what division we were in when he left.

I think the only one is Ricketts. Leon wasn't settled, Scotland hardly played, Trundle couldn't get into the side and Robinson has watched Leeds fail. I know Jordi Gomez was on Loan here, but he's a regular starter for Wigan.

Local boy Dean Saunders was foolishly released by us then hit the big time. Coleman did well as did Ricketts. But in more recent times it's easier to point to those who've struggled. Pratley was a major contributor here but hasn't done that great since and was relegated along with his team. All because he didn't feel wanted. Diddums.

I really don't think Allen will be the superstar many predict either, but don't wish him ill.

Just goes to show we're a team that's greater than the sum of its parts. Though I do sense our current group of intakes have 'star' written all over them. Especially so if we land Hernandez.

Does Ricketts fit in the last 5 years category? Apart from him though, I can't think of anybody unless you'd include Briton's return as being a success.
I notice that Pratley and De Vries still can't make their respective first teams back down in the championship. I wonder if they still think they made the right moves?

Brendan Rodgers and Joe Allen went on to join one of the greatest teams on the planet, and the most successful British club of all time.

    Thanks for asking.

been thinking about allen and sinclair,

i think allen will do ok at liverpool tbh...... but if rodgers gets the boot things may go south

as for sinclair, its the begining of the end of a promising career if he goes to city imo. maybe he will get some game time during the cups and a nice pay packet for his stay, but thats all the positives i can see from the move. this time next year i can't see him being that happy.

    99% agree ......
but vorm would be a legend in any team

Marcos Painter is doing OK at Brighton right? But yeah, Ricketts is the only one in recent memory.

That said, I think Joe Allen will do ok, as he should for £15m!

Mama sidebie did well,DES little,Terry phelen Andy melville, ricketts, not too many others since we changed our style of play though. If any of the current squad went to a decent footballing team I believe they would do ok ;)

But how can you say they have done alright since they left us ? They have had one league game which you lost 3 nil, so the jury is still out on those two

Noblelox, thanks for a little bit of jocularity, I`ve highlighted the bits that you missed.

But as Valley has pointed out, they`ve had one game ................ and lost. They will do well if you start winning games & finish in the, let`s say, top 6. I think Joe will do well with you, bender I could`nt care less about, he`s just another manager who`s only a few games away from the sack.

If we are including loanees then Lampard has done alright for himself.

Regarding Allen, if Rodgers gets the boot then a better club will come in for him. He has got the potential its just whether it will shine through at Liverpool
