I think you are blowing it out of all proportion to be honest. I don't think managers up and down the country are gonna think "right so these ****ers are fair game". A fine and a warning is common sense. The punishment was meeted out at the time for me in sending him to the stands. He has apologised in a very honest and self depricating manner. Its a one off minor incident, not some massive problem. I do expect a ban of course. This country has gone mad afterall. We overreact to anything. You need a risk assessment to change a light bulb according to the HSE. Enough said really.
So what if a player did EXACTLY the same to a ref or a linesman for the same type on incident? Would you expect the FA to hand out no ban and simply take the 25 minutes with the red card to be sufficient? This is the can of worms it opens - why does him being a manager make any difference to the punishment? He should be banned (Although I do like the idea of a semi-castration and 20 point deduction I don't think the FA will go that far!!) - 1 or 2 matched and a fine IMO If AVB had done the same I'd love to know what fans of other clubs thought - we all like our own but if it happens against us we'd be devastated
You're comparing apples and tomatoes for me. We're not talking about players and there is a big difference because there is a history of problems with players putting their hands on officials. Players come into regular contact with officials during the course of a game and also have a history of putting their hands on officials as a result. I'm not condoning players who have but it is very easy to see how this comes about. They are running around full of adrenaline and these officials naturally make the odd bad call. Having played football it is infuriating so I can see why there is a need to take a strict line with players. The risk of managers starting to put hands on officials during the game is, shall we say, minimal (its virtually non existent!!). Its just not a big deal and should be dealt with as such. There is no can of worms to be opened as it is highly unlikely to ever happen again, and certainly not by Pardew who is embarrassed by the whole thing. Sometimes a bit of common sense goes a long way and stops things getting more attention than they deserve. I'd feel the same regardless of manager except for O'Neill. If he does it then he should spend a week in Durham prison getting bummed by the biggest ugliest black fella in there.
Should ban him for the derby game!, he will need to be restrained for that one!. Another thing i noticed he did not red card Pardew. Another interesting question is who in the stadium can the ref book and for how long after a match?.
I think he WILL be banned, and that he DESERVES to be banned. 3 Match touchline ban I predict, and reckon thats about a fair punishment. Wasn't over the top, or violent (really); but you just can't be doing it. Simples.
Its funny how the Scum thinks the push was nothing yet when Sess did even less to Tiote last year they thought Sess deserved it. After the way the Olympic stars behaved i think they will make an example of him and deservedly so. two weeks wages fine and given to local charitys in Sunderland should be enough
Not a lot in it, but Pardew was wrong to push the linesman, a fine and a game ban should suffice. See players every season take a card off the referee, or pushing the referee and nothing happening though. Hopefully this makes the FA take more notice.
You Mackems will bring the Tiote/Sissygirl incident into anything. Why not just accept he got schooled and get over it.
I'm sure he struggles to sleep knowing you feel that way, I know I do. I feel absolutely awful about the whole thing. <Tioteisalegend>
Their whole club has a long history of thuggery, so I suppose that the current regime fit in nicely...
We are talking about a club from outside the London area, so there will be a ban, it doesn't supply England players so it will be a longer ban, then again, Pardew has been mentioned once or twice for the England job, so that might shorten the ban, top & bottom of it is, depends who you are (if it was Ferguson, what would happen) & your team (if he managed a London club what would happen), if you had a dog called Rosie with a bank account (& were a strong contender for the England job, what would happen), it's all if's & buts, I doubt the FA will know what they will do, they don't in most other cases
Have you been taking the "Cest how to turn a constructive debate into a farce" schooling, Roger? **** off if you have nothing to contribute to the conversation that others are partaking in, I'm sure some people actually want this board to fail.
