You know nothing of Pompey's historical approach to youth development if you think that's news. Though I'm sure you were just gloating anyway.

JWP is well known as being from Portsmouth and grew up a Portsmouth ST holder... now he's on our stadium kissing the badge. Kid's head is definitely screwed on right.

You know that we can go back to the 1950's to find good players we never capitolized on?

Rumours that Aguero is out for 6 months. I know Clyne was linked with Utd, are we sure nothing went on there?

I wouldn't be surprised if many people have already said it (I'm not trwaling through 20 new pages), but I've never been so proud or happy in defeat before as I am today. Well done Saints, well done.

After the game I couldn't take the smile off my face = and we lost!

What a fantastically encouraging performance. For me today it mattered not whether we won or lost but how we played the game. And, wow, didn't we play!!!

Mancini is a dick. He has literally given us no credit whatsoever for them struggling to beat us. He basically thinks it was down to them "not being 100%" rather than us being a decent opposition.

Nasri actually said Saints are a good team and played well.

Mancini appears to be more of a dick than Nasri! Not one bit of credit given to our performance today (unless I'm mistaken?).

Nope. And not one comment on us in his presser either. Knob.

It never bothers me when managers don't mention the opposition. Manchester City finished poorly today, and his attention is naturally going to be on his own players and their performance and health whatever message he might need to send them via the press or what he needs to say to the fans.

I would have been angry had he gone out of his way to mention that he thought Southampton was bad or to (wrongly) criticize Saints for Aguero getting injured, but he didn't.

All that matters is that Saints fans, players, and Adkins know how well they played.

Totally agree with the above. So proud! I just saw some posts on the main MSN website but am unable to post the link. I have copied it as I loved reading it. We are already convincing the doubters that we are here and we mean business:

Southampton are going to be a team to be reckoned with. They played well and gave me the same feeling as the last game when we beat QPR. I thought I was going to need a toilet roll. The two substitutes got both their goals and they were magnificent ones!
I am hoping Aguero isn't badly hurt, we need him.

Once again, well played Southampton, you made it a thrilling game. You were not going to roll over and you didn't. Welcome back to the Premier League.
