Does anyone no the actual chances of getting him are? And what does everyone think? imo If we manage to get berba it will be a massive sign of intent from o neil and Sunderland and would really take us to a whole new level getting players of his quality.... Very exciting.

I think we may struggle to get him but that we are going for him is great intent.

Do we have a reliable source that's stated we're going for him. I'd be over the moon with him. He'd be fantastic for Connor and ji to learn from.

I've championed for getting Berbatov for a while.

Quite a few are against it, some saying he's not a MoN type of player.

He certainly knows where the goal is.

Would love this to be true but can't see it coming off for financial reasons.

DB what be a dream buy for Sunderland it would really show we mean business if we managed to pull this off.

IMO i just cant see it happening he will want around 100k a week if not more.

Listening to MoN's interview after the Arsenal game he knows we need to get players in & he is working hard to do so.

The last days of this transfer window are going to be very exciting.

zero percent as he will would get a better offer but Adam Johnson is a class signing if you ask me.

Sorry but for me he's too similar to Kenwyne Jones in that they both have a **** hairdo.

I think berba on his day is still one of the best but like KJ he does tend to lose interest and drift out of games.
Could this not also be to scare poxy moxy into thinking we have dropped interest in Fletch?

think his wages will be the biggest stumbling block

But personally I would rather we want all out for him than spending too much on fletcher

Can't see Berbatov coming not for football reasons or the fee we would pay but, his wage demands would price him out of a move to us. Johnson however is more of a chance if he decides to go for football reasons and not money, he will not play at Spurs or Liverpool regularly enough to warrant a move from City but, with us he'll be playing week in week out and hopefully that is what the lad wants.

There's every chance he's going to leave us this summer, he'll be lucky to get a game at all if he stays with us.

Having said that, his wages will be fairly big I'd imagine in the £100k p/w region. Also not sure if he'd fit into O'Neill's strategy, considering he's already signed a 34 year old I'd have thought he'd be after somebody with a bit more pace, but hey it's only my opinion, if you do by him then for me you've bought a world class striker on his day, who has probably the best first touch I've seen since Bergkamp.
