According to Graeme Anderson on twitter Adam Johnson has a big decision to make and he'll be telling everyone about it in tomorrows echo #sunderlandinwithachance.

The next tweet was 'By the way Adam, if you are reading this, the correct answer to the question you are facing is Definitely Sunderland #justdoit'

Seems like it is now up to AJ whether he wants to sign for us or not

It wasn't Johnson sitting next to
Rodgers but I did hear the Johnson to Everton quote.

I would love to see Johnson here but from a footballing point of view wouldn't you rather go to Everton instead of Sunderland? (no Sunderland rose tinted responses please!)

I do hope he comes here as I think he will be awesome for us.

Well its the very same decision he had to make 2 years ago or so but fluffed his lines big time and his international career has nosedived because of it. He went for the money and lost his career in the process.

If its football he wants and his England place back he will pick us as he will be a first team player. If he chooses Liverpool he will bench-warm again with Downing and I think Liverpool are pretty poor these days anyway. 20 years ago they were the team in Britain. Today they are no closer to winning the title than we are.

The thing is even without my SAFC rose tinted glasses on I think we are a better option for these reasons:

Its close to home for a start, stability at home and being round your friends and family generally means you play your best on the pitch.

SAFC are up and coming with a good investor (short) who is going to spend to improve the squad (Everton have not got a penny to rub together and that does not look like changing anytime soon).

First team football: There is a natural space in our first 11 for him and our style of play suits his game.

Last of all he could become a Sunderland legend. At Everton he will always be another player, at Sunderland he would be one of us and so could become a real legend.

Its a tough one, I just hope MON can be persuasive.

I take it you're one of the 4 that told Chiek I am a complete twat then? Lol

Johnson is 25 now and his next move will determine his career. He could become a legend at SAFC and regain his England place or he could choose Liverpool and find he has a new manager by Christmas if Rodgers fails. I dont think Liverpool are a stable club right now and because of that he will be mucked around as Rodgers tries to make it work.

We are far more settled and MoN is going nowhere anytime soon.

    Over to you Adam.

Spot on Vegas, as is usually the case.

He'd be a ****ing tremendous buy for us, he'd really get the buzz back of the early Quinn days, and it would nail on a 45k crowd for Reading.

    GET IT DONE, PLEEEEEEEASE!

Just the kind of response I wanted to see, nice one!!

After reading that you've got me believing he will be coming. Being a Sunderland fan I'm sure you can understand my initial reluctance to get carried away with the rumours!!

If he doesn't sign I'm blaming Vegas for getting my hopes up!!! ;)

You do right to rein it in mate, if we had a quid each as Sunderland fans for everytime we've been kicked in the teeth, we could buy 11 Messi's. Each.

Would be a great signing for you, with him and McClean on either wing you'd have plenty of pace and would suit O'Neill's counter attacking style perfectly with those two on the flanks.

No mate not one of the four I would call you a ****ing twat to your face if I felt the need <ok>
Agreed it is up to the lad now and hopefully football reasons will win him over and MON has a new player in for the first home game against Reading.

I'll be gutted if he signs. Absolutely gutted. He's far too good for the likes of you.

Just hope we can get him sorted before our game with Reading mate should be a big lift for the team and us lot.

The buzz for Saturday if we got this done would be unreal.

We'd be nailed on to win, IMO, if we pulled this off, just because of the positivity from the crowd!
