Glad to here Joe played well .... a little gem he is. BR was slow out of the blocks in his 2 seasons wih us. We lost both our opening games (3 points from first 3 games in the Championship and 2 points in the first 3 in the Prem) but he managed to pull things around. His 'methods' seemed to take time.
Nice to hear a fair comment. Problem is, we have the champions next. Brilliant result by your guys, put the rich Londoners in their place.
Al Jazeera have us down as being "humiliated" by the Baggies. God only knows what we've done to piss off the Arabs. We've just bought a muslim, what more do they want FFS!?
How far is Phil McNulty stuck up Liverpool's chuff by the way. He should be ashamed to call himself a journalist. Cheerleader would be more accurate.
Who saw angry angry Alan on match of the day last night? (Hansen not Shearer). Imagine if he was let loose in the LFC dressing room yesterday!
I only saw highlights yesterday. Where exactly did it go wrong for a us yesterday? and I dont mean bad refereeing, what did we do wrong? I know Suarez got chance after chance and missed the all. In fact that is all match of the day was. Suarez missing the goal. I also sense he was being relied on to much. But that doesnt account for conceding three.
[link=http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19221306]umm...[/link] Albion had the opportunity to double their lead on the hour when referee Dowd awarded a penalty when Long tumbled as he tangled with Agger. Tangled... TANGLED?!!! WTF game were they watching? We deserved to lose... 1-0. MAYBE 2. The first goal was spectacular, and they deserved the goal. But the two penalty calls were atrocious. The first had less contact then Pardew's tap on the linesman, and he didn't fall. The second, Long goes down easy after stepping in front of Skrtl AS HE IS KICKING THE BALL! The third goal came from us chasing the game with ten men. Absolutely disgrace by Phil Dowd. Not to mention the Suarez, Lucas, and Carrol yellows. Still pissed. Also, not sure if bbc knows what commas are...?
Reasons for some positives there, however it's quite ironic that 2 maybe 3 of Suarezs chances would have been buried by Carroll. He wears number 7 for a reason ! He should be playing on the right of the front free with Borini or Carroll in the number 9 position. Also on Stewart Downing, I have defended him & have expected him to kick on this season, but he doesn't have the game intelligence to operate with players like Suarez. Looks like Assaidi will be getting a start very soon id imagine. Finally ive never been a skrtel fan, ok he had a Solid season last year but I think that was the exception to the norm. Both pens were his fault yesterday, one which results in losing on of our 1st choice CBs. We must look to bring in a quality CB to play with Agger. One with a bit more awareness. Not trying to be negative as there are reasons for optimism, but the problems remain and unless we play to our strengths we won't be able to keep pace with this squad . Edit: must also say, I love Carra but surely its got to the stage where we need to replace him ! I believe he's on 90k which regardless of his poor performance is a drain, surely that salary could bring in someone who could start with Agger, then you have skrtel to back up on the bench. One of the.promoted teams would take him before it becomes impossible to shift him from the wage bill ala Joe Cole.
Dream on 80's boy. You would have killed to start with a 5 nil away win and you know it. I have nothing against you lot but because of the way Rodgers has been the last few months I couldn't be happier that you lost.
Who wouldn't be delighted with a 5-0 start to the season? But the fact is, it won't be decisive at all. As Bolton proved last season. I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if QPR finished above Swansea this season.
Not much to be honest, it's not as if we were keystone cops. Downing is in "Sell him. he's ****e" bad books, because a couple of crosses went nowhere near a Liverpool player, or even a football pitch. But because of those few noticeable screw-ups, the lad is persecuted like Lucas use to be. Now I'm not saying he will ever be as good as Lucas, but he does a lot of good work, but because he cannot get that final ball to land somewhere useful, he is a complete ****-up. Suarez is just like last year, and can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo. We do need a full blown striker, as Suarez ain't it, for all his good work around the box, he is just not one of those natural finishers, and really speaking Borini should be at the head of the arrow head, until we can land a new Torres/Michael Owen. Gerrard had a poor game, and when Gerrard has a poor game, it looks like it still follows that Liverpool have a poor game. Other than that, we are still getting use to the new system, and most of the unforced errors are down to misunderstanding and poor footballing skills, which we have suffered from for many a year. Why pass a ball to a team mate, when you can belt it 5 yards behind him? Maybe when Rodgers can get the thick ****ers to play it tighter in the middle and not be playing such poor long passes, then the odds may turn, and we may not give it away as much, but until then, we are going to be giving the ball away.... a lot! And the Baggies were just up for it. Look at it from the Baggies POV, their new manager, maybe untried, but he had all the magic secrets to unlock Liverpool, in his players eyes. Clarke may well have known exactly how to get those penalties. Who knows our defence better than him? So maybe next week, when Clarke is telling his players how to play against Spurs, they may not listen as closely, or play anywhere near as well, but this week, it was an alignment of the stars, and Clarke could not have asked for any more from his players. Add fat **** Dowd into the mix, and you have all the ingredients for a bad day at the office for us. We just have to chalk it up and move on.
He missed out John Terry's affair with Wayne Bridge's wife and blowing £50million on Fernando Torres. Those are the things you remember Chelsea for.
