The Official Matchday Thread - Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Great result today, it sets us up nicely for the europa game on thurs and for chelsea on sat. I felt HBA was the difference between the 2 sides today, any time we got him running at defenders we looked dangerous. Two things to note tho, some players look way off the pace (especially cisse) which is understandable considering he has played constant football for 12 months with only a 2 week break. Secondly once pardew got sent to the stands we looked very vunerable to conceeding, I suppose it just goes to show how important a manager's influence is in a tight game!

 

Cracking result - We were sluggish in the first half. Second half much better!!

 

Great result. The first goal was total quality. I've seen people saying Cabaye was poor today, and on the most part he was, but he did play a major part in the first goal. HBA (who was immense) with a cheeky back heel to him, his crossfield pass to Simmo, crossed in for Demba. Great goal. Spurs desperately need a striker. I think this proves why we've been going for another one ourselves. Cisse and Ba were chasing the same balls and not working well together in a slightly different system. Another one who better compliments both of them would give us a much better attack.

 

The fire brigade are still trying to free Tash from the river of Jizz that's covered his street for the last couple of ours. Please bear with him.

 

Didn't think Tash was too impressed with the game. Quite happy with it myself.

Hi all. Just had a look through my incredibly boring FA rulebook...and I still don't have a clue what the punishment will be. My guess is he will probably get a 2/3 match touchline suspension plus a fine, obviously he had to go but hopefully they will take his apology into account. Don't think it will be too severe after all a nudge is not really worse than unloading a four letter tirade on an official.

 

The annoying thing Villas-Boas was constantly outside of his touchline and nothing ever got done. Even at one time moving out of the way so Assou-Ekotto could keep a ball in.
