If you're a season card holder you have a card that will be read by a card reader which will then open the turnstile. If you're not a season pass holder you'll have a normal ticket and I suppose they'll have some manned turnstiles to deal with that. Rotherham game was all normal tickets. The Brighton game is the first time the cards are being used.

I'd have thought the normal tickets will have barcodes on them and they too will use the scanners? That's how it works at all the other grounds.

Yeah true didn't think of that, which is stupid as I've done it quite a number of times myself at away games.

Apparantly its going work like a traffic light system. Green - Yellow - Red.

Green = You are ok to go in.

Yellow = Concessions (show proof of age)

    Red = Your banned.

Have to admit they looked like handheld devices and looked like they needed someone to work them.

Excuse my language, but what the **** is the point in implementing this new system yet still having people 'on the gate' taking our passes?

That seems to have been the problem wherever I've seen the system used. They have to employ people to explain how to use the barcode system so it doesn't really save anythning.

Surely you only need people to be shown once , or maybe a few times , how to use a barcode reader ? Otherwise they aren't going to save much money

    ****off ****.
you quote me where it states 'on the gate' taking our passes?'
obv you need an op on the gate to deal with any issues.
have you got a pass or just acting like a dickhead like you always do?

Even if there are people on the turnstiles, won't it be just one or two people per "set"?

So rather than having 6 people sat taking tickets (and often stewards outside the turnstiles too), there will just be one or two stewards stood outside.

    This^^

And that one or two, will probably be the one or two who were there last season to check bags just stood outside the turnstile.

And realistically, after the first two-three games, they won't need anybody to show how to use the card as we should have all done it by then (unless somebody is giving their card to somebody else for a game - which case, thats their problem I guess). It will basically reduce like 50 people on turnstiles, down to 10 - completely rough numbers

I wonder if paying for the plastic to make the cards worked out cheaper than the booklets.

I'm thinking about maybe just waiting behind someone in line, see what they do, and then when I do it, I look smart... ;)

I've got a season card but my friend who I usually go with is on holiday. I want to take the other half, so do you reckon they will be able to check if it's the correct person if I use his pass??
