I am involved with people with disabilities and I understand they have lost the concession for carers to look after them at matches. Things like this and Nickys departure are why I am not going to blindly praise the owners.

It does say middle or highest level of disability so I'm assuming that those not on these scales are the ones losing out

But in most aspects of society at the moment, disability benefits are aimed at the middle and higher DLA recipients. The level of DLA received is based on how long a person is expected to be able to care for themselves. If it's decreed that a person is on the Lower Bracket, then it is assumed they are able to look after themselves for the duration of a football match.

They could be brought to the game and be picked up afterwards, for example, and that specifically, during the game, they would not need a carer. Of course a friend can go with them, but that that friend should be a paying customer.

Is that really such a wrong assumption?

My only contact with the DLA is my father, who receives the highest rate of DLA, so perhaps I don't see it the same way, but I don't really see why people think the club is so unreasonable for asking people accompanying someone the government has determined as being able to function independently as being needing of a free ticket.

The Lower-level recipients are not being denied their concessions ticket, which would be unreasonable.

I know a lad who gets a hell of a lot of money from DLA simply for being a total ****ing idiot, and when I say idiot I mean he is completely retarted (not mentally ill ******ed, just unbelievably stupid) he climbed a 70 foot electricity pylon and got the 5th highest record in the world without dying, for a laugh. Just to add icing in the cake, he's that thick he didn't think about how cold it would get up there, he decided to sit and roll a smoke (unsuitably clothed for the cold temperature) nd before he knew it his legs froze so cold the fire brigade had to lift him down. Te national grid had to shut down 7 villages from electricity for hours which was estimated to have cost over £500k in losses to the company.

Just because he is an absolute pea brained clown does he really deserve a cheaper football ticket? He's perfectly able bodied, manages to live on his own and cope, he's just the least intelligent person on the planet.

As I said, they're great at bigging themselves up in the media, that isn't in question.

Just another thing, they've completely stoppped anyone getting free tickets to games, that includes former players, schools and local kids teams and even their own staff. I know Justin Whittle used to get tickets whenever he wanted but not any more. There are 10,000 empty seats in our stadium, that's the lowest its been in ages, partly because the prices went up, partly because of the disillusion of some fans after the Barmby nonsense and partly because they don't seem to give a **** how many turn up as long as they all pay as much as possible. All while they say they want to see football matches costing £5-10. In those circumstances we should be desperately trying to get local shools and kids teams into the ground to get them hooked on City but the owners won't do it. It's common sense to see that it wouldn't cost us anything because these people are only filling empty seats. Just like charging £3.80 a pint just means no one will buy one; I've never bought a pint at the KC so it doesn't matter to me but I still know exactly what it costs now because it's become such a talking point among fans. Of which there are more and more irritated ones.

Madhog - you're talking about the Cott branch of the OSC, that isn't the OSC as a whole and in fact the two fell out a while back. The OSC desk today was inundated with fans asking why didn't have access to the sports bar any more when they'd paid for it in advance, just like the fans forum and POTY events that keep getting cancelled - another perk of beiong in the OSC - of course all they could say was that the club keeps withdrawing these things without explanation. They've got an impossible task dealing with the club at the moment.

That's another soundbyte bollocks thing. Being simply disablerd doesn't entitle you to that free pass for the assistant, you have to severely diabled enough to get a certain government benefit.

The big thing in all of this is that a lot of the time they aren't even saving money - they're just charging more money to less people. It's really simple.

I can't believe so many different groups of "fans" got free tickets previously, no wonder we lost so much money. I'm pleased that's all been stopped, people were clearly taking the piss.

Oh and I agree 100% with Ben too. People are looking for conspiracy theories and excuses to have a dig at possibly the best people ever to own our club and I don't get it. No, before anyone suggests it, Ben and I and other people with our views do not blindly worship the Allams nor would we let them get away with anything bad, the thing, so far they haven't done anything wrong in my eyes and yes I include sacking Barmby in that.

ISTPLT ta for the clarification of the Cott OSC, I thought it was all under the same umbrella.
