View attachment 16938 New season,New start. Hopefully we can get back to the promised land, but we face a freshly relegated Wolves team at Fortress Elland Road in the first match of the season. Team News Leeds Diouf expected to be named in Leeds squad,Along with Tom Lees who has had a groin injury. No injury concerns from the Leeds half apart from long term sufferers Davide Somma and Leigh Bromby. Wolves Matt Jarvis is also expected to be named in the squad despite Jarvis wanting to leave. Steven Fletcher is injured and will miss out along with O'hara and Doyle Dangermen Leeds Ross Mccormack- During the 2011/12 season Ross picked up YEP player of the year award for contributing 19 goals in all competitions. With a possibility of a new contract been signed soon Ross Mccormack could be the one to fire Leeds to the Premier League. Also Ross made a substiute appearance for Scotland and managed to score within ten minutes. Wolves Matt Jarvis-A tricky pacy winger who earned his first England cap last year, Matt Jarvis could be the one to cause Leeds Uniteds defence problems. Jarvis was awarded both Supporters' Player of the Season award and Players' Player of the season awards Expected Lineup For Leeds Kenny Peltier Lees Pearce White Green Austin Norris Varney Becchio Mccormack. Enochs Prediction Warnock is a experienced manager in making teams hard to beat. This team is no different. It's a psychical team with goals in them. Wolves also have threats but have a new manager which could be the difference. I predict a Leeds 2-1 win. Over to the Elland Road faithful, Keep banter flowing. X P.S pictures aren't uploading so I'll try again in the morning to make it look better
Nice one Enoch I'll push the boat out and go for a 4-1 win to Leeds. It's the best possible time to place Wolves as they're squad is ravaged by injury and discontent. I may be being optimistic... but oh well McCormack (2), Becchio and Norris
BBC reckon Diouf will be starting... I doubt Neil would throw him in that quickly. Saying that I'd prefer him on the wing rather than Green.
Yeah would like to see Drury play at the back and push White on. I feel much more confident about Drury's defensive capabilities than White's. Aidy's pace is also a valuable commodity for a winger which Varney or Green lack. The way I see it, if we've got Diouf we might as well play him at some point. I know you'll agree with the last point
Cheers Enoch! Good collation of all the info around and with Ross signing... Hopefully he'll celebrate with a winning goal/s!
Personally rather Warnock played this formation: Varney-Becchio-McCormack Green-Austin-Norris Dury/White-Pearce-Lees-Pelts Kenny I feel 4-3-3 holds a number of advantages over 4-4-2. 1) Allows midfield domination- No midfield in the league is going to be able to handle 3 of our top central midfielders i.e Green, Austin, Norris/Brown 2) Becchio plays best in 4-3-3- We need him to score goals this season if we want to be promoted. When we played 4-3-3 under Grayson he banged what 22 goals in? Why? Because he had Snoddy one side of him and max gradel the other feeding him chances along with Killkenny, Howson, Johnson in midfield. Becchio can't create chances for **** so we can't stick him upfront with Ross or on his own and expect him to score but stick him in the box with a ball there is a good chance it's going to end in the back of the net. We need to play to his advantages, he's not a lone striker or a creator he's a poacher so he needs McCormack and Varney either side of him to do the creating for him. 3) Allows the Fullbacks to get forward- White/Dury and Lee Peltier can successful move up and down the wing to help out McCormack and Varney while our 3 man midfield can provide good cover (especially since Green can play as a RB while Pelts gets up there). 4) 3 Attackers upfront guarantees goals- As previously said Becchio with Varney and McCormack either side will get bag us a ****load of goals. We already know McCormack will get us be up their too. And no doubt Varney especially played upfront will knock in a few aswell (I expect 8-11 this season). This equals goals! goals! goals!
Good thread. 3-1 Leeds 28,415 watching 1 Elmo sat at home waiting for scum to kick off on monday night tele cos that is true alleigence.
From what I've seen of White in pre season, he's looked a lot stronger in the areas of his game that were lacking. That is essentially anything other than running very fast and putting in a good tackle. His crossing has been better, he's been passing better and not getting carried away and trying to take on too many players as much.
Chippie thinks the best way to argue is to take the ja606 line: if you have no argument and are unable to debate, just accuse someone of being a man u fan and insult them on every thread. Am sure he is Lofty from ja606.
Righto I'm gonna plump for a 1-0 to us as i stated yesterday and it seems that the Wolverhampton massive don't seem too confident about this game.
Chippy just took offence that your version of debating is to talk at everyone and never ever move your position despite others hoolding equally valid but different opinions. No one has a monopoly on being right all the time and sometimes it is possible to have an opiniion or belief without having or needing to have proof to back it up. I hope your day is not spoiled by someone standing up singing, but if you are sitting down I hope big Gary's arse is not spreading from his seat next door all accross yours.
