Colo has insisted that he still has more than enough in the tank to face Spurs on Saturday.

He told the Chronicle " I hope this week can be one we can enjoy. I had some tiredness in my legs at Cardiff but everything is OK"

Always good news to know that Colo's fit.

I was wondering about pre-season, because it seemed weird that Cardiff match.

Considering we NEVER came back from being behind last year, is it fathomable that Pardew intentionally told the defence to concede a couple to see how the team would cope? I know it seems like grasping at straws, but I'd honestly consider doing that if I were a manager and had a course of meaningless friendlies... Then again, I'm not paid £30,000 a week to know football...

Oh well, hopefully Colo is properly fit for the occasion!

Sometimes get strange pre season results, think that is what happened at Cardiff. Be interesting to see what happens on Saturday and who is available/selected.

I was well confident about our team before the Cardiff game, but sometimes its good to get a shock before a game as important as the season opener.

Massive sigh of relief. The guy who has the most impact on how we play.

Is Taylor fully fit to start alongside him?

Looks like Pards has a full squad to choose from.

    Update.

Both Fabricio Coloccini and Papiss Cisse are expected to be available, along with new boy Vurnon Anita.

Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tiote and Hatem Ben Arfa took at least some part in training on Thursday but it remains to be seen whether they are deemed fit enough to feature on Saturday.

I'll feel nervous for any of the new lads starting, but I know (sort of) they have the quality for this league. Taking points from Spurs without Cabaye and Tiote will be a tough ask first time out, so I hope one of them makes the start, possibly then subbed for the other at half-time.

Got to have faith in Pards being able to juggle things around to get the best result possible.
