On the Liverpool website BR has stated that there "should be news of incoming players in next day or two" Also on sky sports radio Clint Dempseys agent has said his move to Liverpool is very close. Hopefully one will be sahin too
Fookin Dempsey.. the other two boys yeah, not this flogged donkey though he will provide a bit of steele up front but still, we'll have to see
Hoping its Sahin and Tello...makes food business sense those loans and then once we get back to champions league level we can look at signing names rather than loaning.... Dempsey is high wages and no resale value.....Good player, but how does he fit with the options we already have?
Tweet from spanish media (@JLSanchez78) "El representante de Sahin (Reza Fazeli) ha estado en el Bernabéu negociando la cesión al Liverpool. Más cerca de Anfield Road." Translated... The representative of Sahin (Reza Fazeli) has been at the Bernabeu negotiating the transfer to Liverpool. Closer to Anfield Road.
I assume those signing will be Nuri Sahin and Clint Dempsey, hope they will be available for WBA and we get off to a great start.
meh, to a point. They will have no flow with the team. Give them a week and by gameweek 2 then yes let's see them in action.
Dempsey or Tello I don't mind about but Sahin is the one who could make the difference for us this season IMO.
I was against dempsey at first but tbh I think he will give us much needed depth and be a worthwile addition upfront. I would be pleased to see him come off the bench knowing he has the ability to score goals
I'm the same as you, he's useful upfront, out wide, attacking mid and fills the Kuyt role as we all know. Consistent proven goal scorer, I don't expect him to be starting every game, but will feature off the bench and maybe tougher games when we need to sure up. Bound to get 10 goals for us I would imagine.
True Suarez did come on in his debut for a goal. Just think they will soak the atmosphere in first. Dempsey didn't travel to Mexico to play btw, could be good news on this as well...
I think he's worth a punt Dave...and I'll tell you why: 1.The obvious one is we lacked goals last year and he can score 2.His workrate has improved dramatically over the last few years 3.He has that knack of finding space and arriving in the box at the right time 4.He can use either foot and isn't bad with his noggin either 5.Plenty of Prem experience 6.Shirt sales may not be huge but will be big enough to make it worth a gamble 7.He'll be in demand stateside so potential of some return when his time with us is up 8.He'll start a lot from the bench anyway (IMO) and for quite a few years now I've been looking at our bench thinking "where the bloody hell do we get goals from?" He might not be good enough for LFC of old mate but here's a question...would we have been better off last year with an extra 20plkus goals from a player like Dempsey. The simple answer is yes. View him as a replacement for Dirk and I think it wouldn't be a bad move at all for us. Plus it keeps Bluff happy
Dempsey is clearly to boost Liverpool's rep in the states. Nobody is as Patriotic as the Americans and they will see an American "Soccer" player and cheer us on.
I hear what you say Billy but I really don't like him. All that comes to my mind is Mr Grey, a plodder with little or no true skill to bring to the party. As for the goals let's just widen the goal by a few centimetres. Dirk created his own charisma and I don't see Dempsey being able to do that.
Dempsey is a better player than Kuyt, so if he is relatively cheap then it can only be an improvement to our squad
Kuyt = no legs, poor technique Dempsey = some legs, good technique Sahin would make our midfield strong.
