I see we are being linked with Anita from Ajax. Several prem clubs interested but nufc are the only club to have made a bid, which was rejected. He's came out today touting he wants a move to the prem.
being totally honest I have never seen the lad play baring a few youtube clips but what I have seen of him on those clips and heard about him he seems like a player who would come in and certainly improve us. the lad is only young and will be ambitious being at one of Europe's top sides and rightly or wrongly IMO he will see whoever he moves to as a stepping stone to a bigger and better club. from what I hear the lad prefers to play in the midfield rather than at left back so if he went to Newcastle who are currently more of an attractive proposition for future players than us I don't think he could, would or should be guaranteed first team football with Cabaye and Tiote in there midfield. as for us he would walk straight into our midfield no doubt about that so personally I think we have a decent chance of getting him thats if we are even interested in him just depends what the lad wants at the end of the day, if he is looking for a club were he is going to be playing week in week out and if he impresses then the top clubs might come calling then we would be perfect for the lad.
Dont think we are in a positions to be spending more than 6m on a left back, especially one with no premier league standard experience. Richardson would look like a prime Roberto Carlos in the dutch league
Since he got linked to NUFC bout 3 weeks ago and people didn't knew him back there either, i made a full analysis on the player. Lemme just copy past that stuff here for people who are banned on that partition of the board. Analysis: Vurnon Anita is almost a copy of Nathan Dyer of Swansea. Same height, same type of player. Anita isn't a LB but more of a midfielder. He is a midget compared to the average height of LB's in the EPL. He is suitable as LB in the Eredivisie but not in the Premier League. He is quick, he is agile. But he is not a defender, that's why Van Marwijk dropped him out of the selection for the EC. As a defensive midfielder he is at his best. His passing and tactical skills are fine but his work rate and mentality is what stands out. He is like the small version Dirk Kuyt in that aspect. His man marking and tackling are great but his height(5ft 6) is his main weakness. I would rule him therefor not suitable for EPL. Note: i wrote this 4 weeks ago, before the start of Euro2012. People were asking me how good he was on the LB position and in that perspective i wrote this analysis. Great signing for you's, can see Debuchey following as well. Another top 7 finish is starting to look almost certain again.
watched France vs Uruguay last night and Debuchy went off injured, not sure how serious mind but think he will end up at Newcastle, 2 very good signings IMO
