Chill out guys, Dai`s only playing devil`s advocate, as he`s entitled to do. It`s better for someone to point out the negatives (real or imaginary) as well as the positives. And when he goes on about the negatives, he does tend to go overboard a bit, no fault in that.

And I would assume that it`s ok for Cardiff fans to come on here Dai, the same as you go on their board. I have no problem with their views, so long as it`s not patently a wind up. <ok>

It seems no one, including the pundits, have the foggiest of how we are going to do this season more than they did last season. Ive read some saying new manager will help (ala O'Neill @ Sunderland) and that we have bought in some quality players in Michu and De Guzman which led to a prediction of 11th....then I have read others saying that we are basically ****ed as we have a new manager, new players etc and will finish 20th. I think an article i read compared about 14 of these paper predictions and on average we finished 14th....which I would take now :) Cant wait for Saturday....got a good feeling....Swans 2-1

All im saying is with all the changes and a different style of football that we will play under ML that im not as confident as some on here YET until I see how we do in the first 4 or 5 games, ...Pre season has not been that impressive TBH and like I keep on saying......Im fearful of ML and his idea of a very small squad, thats not to say it wont work because we dont know. but that dont stop me having some concerns at this time....I dont have a clue where we will finish this season and in reality no one does, Its what fans wish or hope we would finish. All the positives i dont care about its the doubts and concerns i care about....

    And there we have it.

If one of your concerns is a different style of play, how can you predict Liverpool to do well when our style change will be minimal, but theirs will be a complete overhaul?
I'm not sure about trimming the squad either, but I can see where he's coming from with it. Better to have real competition for places than just deadwood that can cover if someone gets injured.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Sousa make similar noises about trimming the squad when he came in? Why didn't he get his way on it?

He's lucky I'm not a mod yet or else it would be gone. As soon as I am it will be history unless Mabon or Ash beat me to it

Liverpool have had a very good pre season and when you can see they are playing better under Rodgers than they were under Kenny then i can say they are a better team this season, I cant say that about us YET... We have scored goals and thats the positive but we have also let is goals and that's the negative.....positives im not worried about but the negatives we need to address and that is our defence.... It might get better i don't know but it might not and that's what im worried about....and rightly so..

So it's all about pre season then? Liverpool had a good one so they'll do well, we had a crap one so we'll suffer?
I'd rather look at that like this - we've got some bad games that mean nothing out of the way and have learned where we need to improve.
Liverpool have done well in some games that mean nothing and think they're ready to compete as they are :D

"the negatives we need to address and that is our defense"

At last, something we agree on buddy. Our defense; outside the starters Taylor, Rangel, Ash and Chico, appears bereft of EPL standard players. Unless one or more of the youngsters, Obeng, Situ are showing promise but this I doubt as they didn't feature much in pre-season.

I do feel that ML is concentrating too much in midfield but we don't know whats going on behind the scenes eg. Sinclare and those he wants to move on, Dobbie, Gower, Moore, Lita, hopefully not Orlandi.

Anyhoo wwcoi, chin up buddy, Saturday it begins. Think positive, drop the Manchesters, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham from your worries. Include 'Pool, Everton and Newcastle if you want and we are as good as, if not better than those who remain. I think 10th is within our reach.
