It wont change much from last season really,

    ---------mig----------

    Elmo-----cuellar----o'shea------Richardson

    larsson-----catts----Gardner-----Colback------mcclean

    ---------------Sessegnon--------------------

If you look at the times we played Arsenal last season we know we arnt going to have the ball for around 80% of the match so we pack the midfield and just make it hard to play through us, it doesnt show us going all out to win but we must accept that with the squad we have we just cant compete with trying to outplay Arsenal. Playing Sess upfront is always frounded upon but the ball will stick to him better than Campbell and thats priceless in a game when we will hardly ever have the ball.

Im going for 1-0 to Arsenal with a gutsy defensive display from the lads

Gardner for Elmo at RB for me, maybe Meyler in the middle for an all round more "robust" approach through the middle. A battling display ultimately going down 2-0. Hopefully we will not gift them a lead in the first 30 seconds as we did last year.

For me I would play Noble up front. He needs to bulk up so they say however Arsenal are one of the less physical teams in the Prem' so Noble may have a chance.

    If it were upto me

    ......................mig.......................
    Gardner..oshea..Cuellar.....Rico
    ...............catts..colback..............
    Larsson........sess.............Mclean
    .......................Ji...........................

We need Ricos pace at left back against Arsenal, colback and catts protecting the defence. Try getting the ball out wide as much as we can. Ji is better than wickham or Campbell with his back to goal and linking up play and he can bring sess into the game.

who ever we sign this week will not play on the weekend they need time to settle in hotels families contracts so it will definately be the same squad from last year. cant believe we are not fully prepared for the first game of the Premiership no goalscorers or left or right back. MAD

When you look at the team on paper it's actually scary to see how weak it looks. Bruce's legacy , it's a miracle O'Neill managed to get them to win so many games when he first came. I think we are just gonna have to match wolves valuation for Fletcher as there is no goal scoring threat in that team.

if you offered me a 3-0 defeat now i'd snap your hand off, its going to be a complete demolition, O'Neill has left us in a position with no goal scorers and no plan B, it's an absolute travesty that we're going into the premier league opening day thinking about damage limitation and it is entirely O'Neill's fault, he has left this far too late and if he has a bad result in the second game at home to Reading then the pressure is really going to crank up on him. I think O'Neill is a fantastic manager but he has left us massively in the lurch, no plan B in his transfer policy and Plan A has been an unmitigated disaster
