Not sure if im missinng something here or their research/records are messed up but i dont remember us finishing 21st last season and he seems to think we will finish 24th
Kamara has tweeted that he is furious & the he didn't write the majority of the article and are just using his name
Ah i didnt know that ive not been on twitter today! Still cant understand how they seem to think we finished 21st idiots lol
Here's the web version... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag.../Championship-Kammys-guide-to-every-club.html
1h Chris Kamara ‏@chris_kammy Can I openly apologise to every Team/ Fans in the Championship The paper I write for! I see I have been stitched up!! The only piece from - 1h Chris Kamara ‏@chris_kammy me is I thought Leeds would do well, all the other predictions are nothing to do with me - I know only to well the last thing fans want is - 1h Chris Kamara ‏@chris_kammy Some smart ar*e saying there team is going to struggle before a ball is kicked. I am so annoyed & was given assurances that they only wanted Chris Kamara ‏@chris_kammy a piece on who I thought would do well, so once again apart from the main piece the rest is nothing to do with me "sorry".
Fankly the bit I find most offensive is the suggestion that TWS will finish 1st!!!!. Not even their own fans believe that. Looks to me like the article was written by Hans Christian Anderson and edited by the brothers Grimm. No wonder Kammy is pissed off. I know he likes a laugh, but this is just bollox.
What do you expect with regards to The Sun ? But They do a good monday supplement after the events thankfully. Maybe a call to his legal team could be in order. Then again Kammy, have it proof read. I also see that Sky pundit Phil Thompson has DQPR to go down and West Ham to surprise a few by staying up ? Been in the Sun to long eh Phil ?
I say this every year but I really can't understand these previews. I read FourFourTwo last night and they had a little article on us doing well last season, finishing 8th, heading in the right direction, good new manager who has got promoted several times before and we've spent a bit of money, yet they finish it with the sentence: 16th. Where the **** did they get that from? 16th is a bloody relegation battle, if they really think that why did they say so many nice things in the written part? I don't understand it. And of course the Championship powerhouse Leeds United are going to finish 2nd. Like they were last year, and they year before. Every year I say the same thing; do these pundits actually take into account the relevant footballing factors or is it just a case of who is a historically 'big' club? It seems like they just look at it and think "Well Hull have all this going for them but they're only Hull and they didn't win anything in the 70s so they can't do well in the Championship now." and then "Ahh Leeds, I know they've lost a load of players and weren't even that good last season but of course they were good in the 70s so they'll surely leap from 14th to 12th this season.
Yeah, I was thinking that as well. Leeds are a classic example. Last year they managed mid table mediocracy by the skin of their teeth. Their defence was ****e and they were saved by their strike force and midfield creativity. So..........in the summer they've sold/lost their creativity, Gradel, Clayton, Snodgrass, maybe even McCormack (time will tell) and replaced them with less able players. The "star" defender they have brought in is untried at this level and is a 28 year old playing in Jamaica FFS. He may be great, he may be crap, we just don't know, but you might have thought if he was going to tear up trees someone would have brought him over before age 28. So on the basis of having sold £5 million quids worth of players and bought in £1 million quids worth how the hell do they suddenly become championship favourites? We don't even know (or care) who will own the damn club by the time the season kicks off. My prediction for them is 17th with "Warnock Out" ringing round the stadium by Christmas. Anyone want a bet on who is closer? Me at Leeds 17th or the Pundits at 1st?
There's some ****ing shocking predictions in there every year. They actually say somewhere in this year's magazine about how they predicted Charlton to finish around 16th in League One last time. Where did they finish? As champions with 101 points Blackpool, Cardiff and Boro to finish 8th, 9th and 10th this season as well... Apparently...
Ultimately, you are always going to piss a lot of fans off with any "table prediction". I doubt there is an order which everybody would accept, but it is going to end up one of those ways. Most people just see us as a team they can tuck away in mid-table, making way for the "bigger clubs" higher in the table. I wouldn't want to be tipped by everyone for promotion, it hasn't gone too well for teams in previous seasons (e.g. Leicester last season, and Boro before that).
