There was no 'Tiger, Tiger' on Saturday, there was no 'Wise Men' and I understand there will be no more of the 'Welcome to the Ambulance Chasing East Stand' bollocks either. Anyone got a sniff of what we are going to get on Saturday?
Nah, but I noticed the Wise Men Elvis Presley song but I never noticed the Tigers Tigers Burning Bright song and I never liked the welcome West Stand type of drivel but hopefully we can have something decent pre match
I asked him a week ago on Twitter, but he didn't reply, he might not be, he's a big FC fan apparently.
I'm sure I heard Led Zep- Kashmir when i was queuing to get in on saturday. Not the usual song of choice, if i remember rightly.
It was a piece of 'dramatic string-arranged' music from what I can remember. I put forward the suggestion of Metallica's live entrance - Ecstacy of Gold (from the Good, The Bad & The Ugly) as a build up, into Enter Sandman as the teams enter the field.. It sounds like they've tried to go with a similar arrangement of strings then rock music when the players come out, but Steve big mouth was shouting the team sheets out over the guitar music, so couldn't hear what it was, or if it's any good... not only was he shouting over it, they turned the music down for him to shout over.
Not happy about the change away from Tiger Tiger at all - okay it might not have been everyone's cup of tea, but at least it had some relevance. I assume the lack of Elvis on Sat was due to the players being ready to kick off before Jordan had finished reading the teams out, again a tad gutted if that has gone (I quite enjoyed an overly dramatic sing song before kick off) Not at all upset about the welcome to the blah blah blah rubbish, uber cheesy and good riddance IMO.
Might have just been different because of the low crowd. When he said "This is the KC stadium", I was really hoping that we didn't play Wise Men , just because it would have been embarrassing (especially so, as it seems Rotherham also sing the song). Would be nice to move away from Can't Help Falling in Love though - it feels a bit rubbish when 20 other clubs also sing it. Caravan of Love might work, but some people on row J might complain because it encourages standing up.
I always thought the 'Tyger, Tyger' intro was brilliant. As a teacher of literature I knew the poem well but never particularly liked it. when I first heard it at a City game i was stunned, not only does it bring the poem to life superbly, it is so apt and relevant, as well as emotionally stirring - but I guess it takes something more to get the KC crowd going!
Ditto (Well, perhaps not the bit about being teacher of literature......) but I too loved the Tyger Tyger intro, whenever I make it to the KC, really sent shivers down my spine. A bit of true class
Yes much improved. They also played Kashmir by Led Zeppelin just before it. Thumbs up again from me,, yet i stay in the bar until 2.55pm regardless normally. It was time for a change. imo As a side issue, whats with this coin toss change now ? why move it from the middle like its always been ?
