So allen has gone and we maybe needing a replacement. Do you Think we should try jazz Richard s in the midfield position? He has great skills a very good engine and being a local boy Will fully understadn the nettle and style in which we play. He Will also run through brick walls for the team and have that energi to close down players off the ball, something that britton can not do alone.

I feel he was unlucky not to Get given his chance in the championship more often and a chance to play his way into confidence and settle has been misser,he has IMO all the tools for the job, he looked international standard against Mexico and i Think given a run in the team Will progress and make him a very good prospect.

We may as well try him as laudrup has also said he is in no rush to sign joes replacement.

Imconfident we can promote within for this position, what do my fellow jacks Think about jazz ?

I wonder if we've already signed Joe's replacement in Michu or De Guzman. Both midfielders.

I'm not convinced at the speed of any transfer stories any more. Joe probably knew about this transfer a week or two ago, maybe even before the Olympic games. If that's the case, then the club are aware of when things are happening even if they haven't officially been approached.

It's also worth mentioning that if Laudrup wants to play a 4-4-2 then we'll need one less player in the centre of the park anyway. Bolton have turned down the £4m for Davies, but it may still happen and that will be the partner for Graham up front.

I have faith in the future indeed.

I'm not as confident as you that he'll make a Premiership footballer at centre midfield but I think he has to be given his chance now.
If it comes off we'd benefit from having a local boy in the team, as we did with Allen.

Orlandi and Agustien should see more action as well, we are still strong in this position. In my opinion the money would be better spent on centre-half, back up left-back (providing we shift some dead wood first), and on the wing. I'd prefer an out and out winger and another who can play wing and up front, or in Michu's position.

I think Jazz is decent cover for the fullback positions and I think Orlandi could cover midfield and left back too. We definitely need a centre half though.

Centre-half definitely a priority for me even more so if BR comes calling for Williams if Agger leaves.

Yes i agree with comments above. My point with jazz is that he needs game time i guess, i Think its probably right in that we knew joe was off a while ago,the club started to eye up laudrup sooner than we thought so it may be right that we signed players to cover him before he left.

I would rather us invest in our youth but thats my personal choice, it might not be possible with such pressure on the team right now but i like to Think players like obeng and jazz Will Get a chance to shine.

They Are both wildcards but sometimes These boys play without the fear of failiure and that makes a big difference.

When jazz had a run in the team last season he did well and was starting to Find his prem feet, he would have learnt alot from that experience.

Agree completely Norway. I guess with Jazz we're still unsure where his best position is. His stints in the team have been at full back whereas in the reserves he was pushed into centre mid. With centre mid being such a key position it could be viewed as risky starting him there. I'm sure he and others will get some exposure through the cups but I hope to see 2/3 of the youngsters getting minutes in the Prem games even if it's for 10 minutes at the end.

I think Jazz is strong enough to do a job for us in either position - looked more than the part against Mexico. Given some game time to blossom or shrink we will know what we have - but I'm not sure he's going to get it without injuries. Yet without it he's not going to reach his full potential. He's in a tough place.

Jazz should be made to concentrate only at either fullback position , as cover only & play regular in cup games IMO

Going to be tough to find the sort of player to fill Joe's boots, De Guzman is not of the same ilk from what I've seen so far and is less willing to track back in a defensive capacity whilst Michu although willing is much better deployed further forward. As for Jazz he did originally play in midfield but used sparingly as a full back when needed to cover, will have to up his game if he is to compete for a spot in midfield at this stage of his career but could be one for the future.

Good call Norway, re Jazz. I have always felt he is a midfielder and not a defender and given a run of games will find the form he promises.

I know that Curt and co are very loath to let him go anywhere as he is a talented player. Now Allen has gone I hope he'll get his chance to break into the team this year.

Personally, I don't think we need any more in midfield with new signings Michu, de Guzman and with Kemmy fit, its as if we have a third new midfielder.

We need a more experienced player than jaz for this season. sure he will get some game time but I'm with ML when he says we need experienced players. Jaz would be a good man on the bench in this coming very tough season and would be excellent cover. I don't think he will cope playing week in week out yet.... we definitely need a center half and a striker plus a couple of defenders...

Jazz is a promising youngster and needs to play. Maybe he needs a change of environment and add some games to his belt in a lower league over the next season if he don't get the match experience he needs.. I would like an other center half and a winger. If we are to bring in another striker, we need to get rid of Lita or Moore. I hope there will be gametime for Gwion Edwards, Ben Davies, Jazz Richards, Curtis Obeng and Rory Donnelly this seasong. They need match experience either here or at another club. It seems like ML is willing to give at least a few of them a try and I hope he does..

Edit: I also belive we have enough midfielders. Orlandi was impressive the few minutes he played.

Sorry but the way the opposition ran through our midfield and defense is alarming..3 goals that were basic. Its no good getting danny to score if we are going to leak goals like we have in pre -season and draw or lose....we have the money to buy quality and shore up the defense for starters. Is Ashley's head elsewhere....I hope not.

Our defence has been iffy since roberto, we all know this. Brenden struck the right balance and i beleive laudrup Will do the same, i havent seen the swans this season yet but i Get the feeling it might be the same as when buck first took over,he needed some competitive games before seeing that one on one defensively is something we struggle with.

Tweaking the team to cope is tricky, goals for = goals against. Thats been a Long term problem, There needs to be a sjekke in midfield and i Think jazz could develop into that type of player for us,he has a great physical build, stronger than joe allen, just depends if the manager wants to blood him i guess.
