Good Morning, Due to Meaningless international friendlies, Warnock will be without Paul Green, Aidy White and Ross McCormack for most of the week. That is not great preperation for Saturday, as I would expect all three to start on Saturday, thoughts? Paynter has finally departed, making the short trip down to Donny. I'm sure we all wish him well... Richard Naylors under 18's comprehensively beat Huddersfield 4-1 at Thorp Arch yesterday. The takeover is edging closer, has anyone heard about any timescales? On this day in history 2004 Leeds draw 0-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers in their third game of the season to leave Leeds with four points from a possible nine.Michael Duberry is sent off for his second bookable offence late in the game. 2008 Ian Westlake scores the only goal of the game as Leeds win 1-0 at Macclesfield in the first round of the Carling Cup. 2009 Defender Patrick Kisnorbo earns the distinction of being the 100th Leeds player to play international football whilst on the books at Elland Road.Kisnorbo played in Australia`s friendly at Republic of Ireland and he is one of seven internationals currently at the club. 2011 Leeds United boss Simon Grayson was left baffled after seeing John Howson sent off in the home defeat to Middlesbrough. Boro player Tony McMahon was also shown a red card in a game that was never a physical contest and was spoilt by card happy referee Anthony Taylor.
Morning elland. How's tings? It is annoying to have meaningless international games and if any of them get injured (especially Ross McCormack) then I'll be pissed. It should give em some sort of confidence boost anyway. Are any of them expected to start? I remember that middlesborough game in 2011 being bullshit.... even reading back on it is ridiculous
Morning Josh, If I remember correctly we were all over em in the first half and should have been 3 or 4-0 up, but we scored just the one. I thought it was White that had been sent off. Anyway Boro scored a quick double midway through the second half, and that was that.
omg, Shaun Wright Phillips is signing on loan. Amazing player, yes please.. Morning Elland. I too find these meaningless friendlies. Wonder are wolves losing anyone on Saturday? At least there still seems to be positive vibes re the takeover as it seems to be still moving forward. Trying not to get too worked up. Hope Diouf plays Saturday and plays a blinder. Might be able to put that saga behind us
If Diouff keeps his head down, and does his talking on the pitch, there won't be a problem. It will just be our luck for one of our starlets to come back from the friendlies crocked....
Morning all: I was surprised to see Harvey building bridges with Lust, because that seems to suggest that he'll be staying on after the T/O (If it happens) and he'll be getting the fans back on side. Theres also a suggestion that Bates will be an hounerary president or some such garbage. As long as it happens then I don't care, but having Harvey around will always make me think of that bearded twat, and Harvey is flawed by association. Freindlies are shyte If This rumour regarding SWP is correct, then that's a better replacement for Gradel, (Which we never got) and a good loan signing for a change, especially if QPR are picking up most of the wages. Could even be a 'cherry on the cake' signing
Yea, pretty much how I remembered it. All of the sending offs were a joke. White was sent off v ipswich a couple weeks later if I remember correctly though Re: shaun wright phillips. I do think he is past it, can probably offer something in the championship and will certainly do a job but I really want us to be signing templeton and I can't understand why we are unable to do this.
But elland, how much did we supposedly get from the snoddy deal. Not only this, the fact that we didn't end up giving him the biggest wage at the club as well which I'm sure Peltier wasn't offered. It was my understanding that we got 2m from Snoddy with extras rising to about 3m (or thereabouts). Peltier cost 800k, by simple maths we should have enough for Templeton who they are asking for 1m for
Morning all Really Josh, you're still expecting 100% of a transfer fee to be made available? As for SWP I think he can certainly do a job for us. May he a little past it, but still has plenty of pace There was a rumour going around on twitter last night that the T/O has been completed for 38 million. Guess we'll have to wait and see on that one
Well, in truth. Yes And if that T/O news is real that'd be a huge sigh of relief I tell ya. How long do people think it'll be before its announced (if it has actually happened that is)
Well if it's actually gone through, I'd hope today. Surely the club would be itching to let the world know after the reaction when it all collapsed? I'd be interested to see what 'honorary president' entitles him to if that part turns out to be true also...
Probably not much although there must be something in it and I'd assume that could be revoked at any stage.
