    Just got these................

When Jessie J performed "We will Rock you" I could honestly feel the earth move. It was Freddie Mercury turning in his grave.

Jessie J did in 5 minutes what the IRA could never do.

    Kill Queen.

You do realise that it was the Labour Party who got us the games and sorted most of the infrastructure out in the first place don't you?
I have thorougly enjoyed the games and I also vote Labour..

Dionne Warwick?? Think you mean Diana Ross fella.
And as for it all being about London and the South - what's that all about??
These Olympics were an advertisement for the whole of our country, and in todays climate anything we can do to generate potential income is only beneficial.
There's a company on my industrial estate here in York who have spent the last 18 months building the Olympic stadium, one of my mates actually built the Olympic torch ! They all received an 8K bonus last month also...

Agree about the Spice Girls mind !

Both Take That and the Spice Girls were ****e, are ****e and will always be ****e, they should have been strangled at birth, the whole lot of them. but the rest of the ceremony was great, little bit disappointed about them ruining Wish You Were Here but I suppose that the majority of the young uns today don't know the original so it doesn't really matter.

Just one more whinge about you KIWI, your spelling is UNBELIEVABLY bad mate.I know you colonials aren't too bright but surely they have some schools over there in this day and age.

At work last night so watching the ceremony now. How they couldn't get Dave Gilmour or Roger Waters to sing wish you were here bemuses me. Also why do people feel the need to stick a rap into the middle of old songs? You should be dancing was going fine until that jibber jabber ****e started and I didn't understand a w word of it! Oh and here come the spice girls time for fast forward

I thought it was great. Yes, it would have been better to have an actual member of Pink Floyd singing Wish You Were Here, but he did alright, didn't butcher it and the album cover on the roof of the stadium was ****ing amazing! Yes, it obviously would have been better having someone other than Jessie J performing with what't left of one of the greatest bands in history, but again, she didn't do too badly and Brian May was simply epic. One Direction/Spice Girls/Take That were awful imo, but they're still a big part of the country and some of our biggest exports. The Eric Idle bit was simply fantastic, I wasn't expecting it and was in tears by the end of it. With Freddie commanding a stadium full of people 20 years after his death, Wonderwall and a generally fantastic atmosphere, the whole thing IMO was brilliant. The whole games went much better than expected, with fears that we would inevitably **** it up and not be able to follow China. We came third in the medal table, and even though I am usually something far removed from patriotic, I am extremely proud of my country after the last two weeks.
