just noticed on twitter that he says "will sort my future out this week. Lots of exciting options" sorry no idea how to do a link and not word for word. Looks like his going. Shame really i think if he was not the captin he could have just got on with being good player.
http://twitter.com/Joey7Barton "Not watching the closing ceremony because I don't want my days of sport to end. What will I watch now?" Ummmm.... Possibly yourself getting sent off on the last day of the season in our biggest game for a generation. #justathought #moron
i would say the way he use the word future makes it sound like he is talk long term. so i think he could be off rather than a loan but i could be wrong time will tell. by the looks of it we wont have to wait long.
Surely anyone wishing to sign him would wait until the January transfer? Don't think we will be shot of him before then - maybe a loan with option to sign. I think West Ham are the only ones stupid/desperate enoght to take him.
could be "options" for tv work/press as well...I would expect it to be a short term loan deal though.
My car and my free chauffeuring service are available at short notice to drop him off at his new club.
Just a quick note but if anyone remembers the City red card objectively you would know it should never have been given. Linesman gave it when he was otherside of pitch, bodies in the way and he should have been paying attention to possible offside. He purley guessed what Barton did (okay it was a good guess) and he sent him off on reputation alone. (Disclaimer- what he did after red card was crazy and he is a fairly average player, seemingly disruptive influence, amd bad for the QPR 'brand')
He is choosing a loan option and as much as he has been a total dickhead no one can deny i have been against him from day one ... he will be back with something to prove ... how that can be bad for the club i don't know as he was the ego ... now he just a player trying to break back into the team. He has to go out on loan otherwise he will never be match fit and as much as i hate to say it... in some games he is exactly the player we may need ...barton or nothing? i used to go with nothing but now i am rethinking and he may help us ... say we have a great season and I fully expect we will then a push towards a better position in a long season? ... a controlled barton may be of use
Ideally I'd like to be shot of Joey but I'm not going to get all Self-Righteous like a lot on this board. I can't help but think that a Barton with something to prove playing alongside a higher calibre of team mate than last season might prove to be very beneficial.
True, which means he'd have to fight (not literally) to get in, so you'd think the knock on effect would be better performances. However I'm not going to be shedding too many tears if he does move on.
