Afraid to say I can't see us getting anything.

But that is far from being doom and gloom. Firstly, we can obviously afford to lose (at least) one game this season. So this can be that game. Secondly, Hudders and Posh have tricky away games of their own - away to MK Dons and Orient respectively. So it's far from certain that either of them will take full advantage of any possible slip from us.

Taking the Easter weekend as a whole, Huddersfield have to be looking at regaining 2nd place. If we're still in 2nd place, I think it's game over for the rest. From our point of view, I'd actually accept anything as far back as being 3 points behind 2nd. That would obviously keep things in our own hands. Ideally less than 3 points behind of course (personally, I think we'll be 1 point behind), but I would take that.

One interesting aspect will be, what team will they put out? They have nothing to play for and may want to give a run out to some youth players, what better opportunity is there for that sort of thing. If desire means anything, then we should want this more. 1-1 draw, perhaps?

ChannonFodders got a good point, it depends on the team Poyet puts out really I seem to remember whenever we knew we were safe we played a lot of young guns, but is it the best environment to test new players against the 2nd best (some would argue best) team in the league?

    Unbeaten home record to preserve.

Record ever points tally to achieve.

Beat the team which everyone predicted at the start of the season would in fact be the Champions.

I would say there is a lot for Brighton to play for.

Brighton parked the bus at St Mary's and the game was very even, with Saints probably doing more, although Brighton missed the penalty.

They will be playing with freedom and no pressure on Saturday, so naturally will be more open than they were at SMS. I'm sure they'll want to prove a point (not that they really need to, being champions is all that matters) that they can beat us.

Lallana must play for us to stand a chance. It's a real shame we don't have Chamberlain, in a more open game, his pace would hurt them.

It is the battle of the two best defences in the league, so it would be a surprise if its high scoring.

A draw is ok, a win would be fantastic.

However, NA baited them by saying that he wanted Saints to win the league, they are local rivals who will want to win their Derby, Gus Poyet's a manipulating genius by getting ref's and opponent riled. Not to mention our key injuries. Also I expect them to help out Huddersfield when they play them not us! So all in all I expect us to thrash Brighton 5-0! I wish

    No.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us do it, then go into typical Saints mode and muck up against Hartlepool for example.

Reminds me very much of the Reading game at the Madjeski back in November 2008 when they were unbeaten at home up to the point of the game and they were expected to win, but we played them off the park.

Same again and I'll be elated.

Brighton will want to beat us to prove a point, as will we. We are first and second, so of course any result is possible. They are a good side, but not ManU for heaven's sake. The good thing is that should we beat them, they will really be up for the Huddersfield game. I think we will win 2.0 or 1.0 on a good day.

I think you will win 2-1.
With Brighton now up, they may not be as bothered with the remaining games.

One part of me says we'll beat them - they have already won the title, they won't be fighting AS MUCH surely? So in this situation i'd take a 1-0 or 2-1 to saints

However, another part of me says, they want to prove they are the best team in the league, they will want to beat us after taking nothing from St Marys, and will therefore go for it, 100% and probably make it 1-1 or 2-1 Brighton

It's a tough one to call, saints will be fighting, and i hope we can do it.

I Agree With SaintHardy20 As They Wouldn't Fight As Hard As If We Won, It Wouldn't Effect Them Getting Promoted Or They're Points.

We could beat them, IF we get a good Referee and other Officials, a bit of luck, the rub of the green, all of our players giving 110% for 99 minutes or so, no red cards, score more goals than them, and they have a bad one, then again we might not.

Some seem to think Brighton are unbeatable. They have had a great season. but have only played us once. We are 2nd you know, not twelfth. The huge advantage to them is that they are at home..I'll concede that, but I think we would beat them more times than we'd lose over a long series of games. We just have to make sure that Saturday is one of those games.
