I know L Taylor is not everyones fave but she does make some good points,I especially like this one While Shola Ameobi â aka the Fenham Eusébio and/or the Mackem Slayer â enjoyed some excellent moments in attack last season and should not be underestimated, he can be injury prone. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/aug/10/premier-league-preview-newcastle
She could at least have done a bit of research: Seeing as Ivory Coast and Senegal are playing each other in a play-off, they aren't all going to go. And she quite clearly hasn't looked much at our young players. She mentions Vuckic and Sammy, but not Mehdi, who is probably the most advanced of all of them, Fergie, who has the most games in the first team of all of them, and Tavs, who will almost certainly get the most game time of all of them. Still, decent article, I'm waiting for the BBC one though.
Shola is a very good part of the squad, but relying on him for goals isn't a great idea. He can score some great goals at times, but his main job is harassing a defence with his enormous strength, and assisting others. He's not a prolific goal scorer, he makes goals.
