Obertan may be unpopular here but with the current squad it'd be stupid to let anyone go (exception is Xisco). We're short on players as it is.

 

I reckon Ober will have his moments next season. I sense it. He's got quality, he just needs a chance.

For Christ sake he was only a lad when he came to the premier league, since then he's had 4 starts with united, and only about half a seasons worth of games here.

Give the lad a chance. He's no Hatem, but he could be useful.

 

French omit toon duo
French coach Didier Deschamps announced his first senior squad on Thursday and omitted Magpies pair Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye from his selection for a friendly against Uruguay next week.

The omission of Ben Arfa had been anticipated after his belated appearance in club pre-season action and the fallout from Euro 2012 that saw him face a disciplinary hearing - although he avoided a formal suspension.

And there had been hopes that Cabaye would avoid selection as Deschamps rested players who had put in a decent shift in Poland & Ukraine.

However Yohan's non- appearance is reportedly due to injury - which adds to concerns that he won't be fit enough to feature in our season opener against Spurs.

We never refer to Newcastle as "united" do we? That's taken by Manure.

And even then, you should know that he's had more than 4 starts for us, and he was at Man UNITED before us.

Sorry, but not many Newcastle fans refer to us as "United".

 

Bit of a sweeping generalisation, I know loads who do.

 

Not generalising, basically speaking from my experience. I've heard some NUFC fans referring to us as United, but most don't.

It just doesn't seem right.

 

We should keep Obertan as an impact sub for his pace.

As for Cabaye, I'm not too concerned, I reckon he'll be fit. If not, we can see Amalfitano instead!

 

Obertan will only come good as an impact player and hopefully is final ball into the box has improved.

Yes a good shot, would like to see him do more of that when he get's a start.

 

Marvo looks quality. Ive just seen him on TV but he has impressed.

 

Marvo looked great in his first game for us. Good vision, good first touch, and reads the game extremely well. Looking for great things from him this season. Just hope he can stay fit.

 

I'd really like Obertan to do well with us, good to know we have the quality coaching staff to bring out the best in him, he deserves the chance, Enrique and Colloccini were pretty unimpressive when they arrived.

 

On the united thing, it does my head in that man u always get refered to as united. Not alot refer to the toon as united but we were a united club before them.
