I used to be a horse holder at a brothel in far western Queensland when I was a young bloke. Didn't get paid too much, but the fringe benefits were outstanding. A good enough CV?

I don't need padding, I'm naturally well endowed.

Oh, sorry Ron, you meant the CV?

Not that im going to apply but...

The Production Coordinator will assist in the day to day running of the GBI Racing service and will be based in Ealing and in central London. You will be responsible for compiling and managing running orders for the main service as well as coordinating bespoke feeds to Australia, Singapore and other territories when needed.
Means - Put all the races in order then show em to the public... Plus you will be working all night to cater for the Asian market...!!!

You will take responsibility for delivering preview content, promos and features to international customers via GBI broadcast and online services and will coordinate with both the At The Races and Racing UK production and editorial teams.
Means - Its your job to come up with something that we havnt thought of before, see it through for 10 weeks then change it back as another great idea that you have had...

You will work closely with engineers and teleport personnel to ensure the highest levels of systems performance at GBI Racing’s production facility in Ealing Studios.
Means - You had better get on with the current staff or your time here is doomed...

You will have daily contact with operations managers in key customer territories around the world, assessing requirements and managing delivery. An ability to communicate effectively with customers is essential to the role.
Means - Do what the boss wants and you will go a long way... Oh, and when the boss gets it wrong you have to take the sh.i.te that comes back...

You will also be actively involved in developing strategies to improve the GBI Racing channel service and delivery logistics for the benefit of the business as a whole.
Means - You better get all your mates watching as the boss wants to see viewing figures go through the roof...!!!

Of graduate calibre, the successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of horse racing and betting. Some experience in television production or a similar role is desired.
Means - If you failed at uni, have no job but spend all day betting in bookies, and have a part time job at Currys you are ideal...

Please apply with CV and covering letter by 11th August 2012...

Get them applications in lads, there must be someone on here who can fulfill these roles...<cheers>

Redcgull may jest but I would actually love that job if it is anything like it sounds. I work in a very boring office doing a 9-5 in IT, very dull!

I can't say I have any legitimate experience in television production though. Might submit a CV anyway, not sure my girlfriend would allow me to give up my job to do it though!

    Cheers Ron <ok>

If it sounds like something you would love doing and you are in a job which you don't particularly like, I would send in the CV and see what happens. If you are enthusiastic about the change that could be in your favour, especially as you have a job and are looking for a change rather than "a job". Study up as much as you can about what is required for the job to demonstrate that you are genuinely interested. You need to convince someone why you are the right person for the job. Imagine the roles reversed; what would convince you?

PS. At the end of the day, if you get offered the job, you don't have to take it. At least you won't be regretting the potential missed opportunity had you not enquired. If you get an interview make it clear that you wouldn't leave the other company in the lurch.

I'm only messing about Red, I know what you mean, when it comes to jobs there is a lot of bull carp on both sides (employer and applicant). I've seen a few CVs that have come through our place and the extent to which even the simplest things can be exaggerated is amazing!

Jeff i was out of work for a while 4-5 years ago and my sister said she would look at my cv and spice it up as i was struggling to get to the interview stage. When she finished 'touching up' the finer details shall we say i thought i could apply to run NASA or take over from Richard Branson at Virgin...<laugh><laugh>
