Can I ask, what has Mike Ashley done wrong, when you asked for new managers he got new managers, such as Shearer, admittedly Joe Kinnear probably wasnt first choice but still

As far as im aware he has put little money into the club but thats as his own finance has plummeted recently

so what has he done wrong ?

If you can't see what he has done wrong, then you don't deserve a proper answer. So, here is my answer.

    **** off.

We didnt ask for a new manager, prime example being Hughton who was doing a class job and got sacked for no reason. Even if some fans do want a manage out, the chairman should have a bit of bottle and stick by who he's chosen. Also the list of things Ashley has done wrong extends far beyond just hirings and firings.

Pre-tax profit came in at £119.5m, against £10.7m a year earlier. Group revenue was £1.45bn, up from £1.37bn.

Wish my finances were plummetting like this.

I give in, here it is.

Giving Dennis Wise priority on transfers over our manager!
Selling James Milner and signing 2 failures.
Allowing Keegan to go instead of just apologising and admitting he was wrong.
Hiring Joe Kinnear and then offering him a 2 year contract.
Putting the club up for sale, then taking it off the market, then putting it back on.
    Renaming of St James' Park
Allowing us to sign failures such as Ryan Taylor
    Taking us down
Not re-hiring Shearer because Shearer told him what to do and then criticising him.
    Keeping Llambias there.
Losing £1m in a Casino but claiming we had no money for transfers.
Not giving Hughton a contract and then sacking him and bringing in Pardew, on a 5 YEAR DEAL!!!
Selling Andy Carroll whilst we had no replacement!
Scrapping the only place that sings in the Leazes Corner.
Putting a huge Sports Direct sign on top of the Gallowgate.
    Barely speaking to us.
Bringing in players such as Kuqi just to add to numbers because Carroll left.
    Should I go on?

Insults 2 club legends, hires a casino man as director who tuurns out to be incomptetent, farcical season of selling best players and buying mugs gets us relegated, embarrassment of stadium renaming, constant false promises to fans, firing a manager fans respected who has done nothing wrong then hires Pardew who hasnt really done much better under strange circumstances with suspicions surrounding the reasons, *POSSIBLE* renaming of Shearer's bar childishly due to well known bad blood between the two ....... i could go on!

Ok well he took over when Fat Sam was in charge, who was playing terrible football and not even winning games either, so he left shortly after. Then there was Keegan, who he lied to and effectively forced out, which was proved by the fact he ending up paying compensation, which caused turmoil and confusion. Then there was Kinnear, who was a ****ing joke, who had to leave after heart failure, then he brought Shearer in because no established manager would be crazy enough to try and save our dismal season with 8 games remaining, who couldnt save us. But on the face of it, Shearer looked good and the fans wanted him to stay on and he had a positive vision for the future, wanting some money to spend to help us get promoted at the first attempt. This scared Ashley, as he doesnt like giving us money unless absolutely necessary so Hughton took over temporarily, spending no money as he wasnt allowed any, bringing in Simpson on loan who he would later buy and Lovenkrands on a free, who went on to score 15 goals that season. Hughton did a wonderful job, he was given a 2 year deal a couple of months into the championship campaign, and with a very modest January transfer budget, made sure we came back to the Premier League with 102 points and unbeaten at home. He was loved by the fans and on our return to the PL, we all knew survival was the target. Hughton had us in 5th place at one point, having beated Villa 6-0 and Sunderland 5-1 on the way. He was sacked when we were in 12th place, for no reason whatsoever. The fans were angry, protested but said they could possibly understand the situation if a top manager came in to replace him, the likes of Jol and O'Neill being available. He chose to bring in Pardew, who no one wanted and hasnt done much on note in his managerial career, and gave him a 5.5 year contract. (Pardew has done OK so far, but the whole thing made no sense whatsoever.)

So there, in terms of managers, (not including the many other calamities of his reign,) is why we hate Ashley.

    Oh yeah and;

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/8487075.stm

A BBC investigation has followed the supply chain of multi-millionaire Mike Ashley's sports retailing business all the way back to one of the world's poorest countries where workers are paid around £1 per day for a 12 hour shift.

A special Inside Out programme about the controversial owner of Newcastle United football club filmed workers in Laos making clothes for his Sports Direct stores.

The factory had one sealed air conditioned room to keep cool a computerised sewing machine which was embroidering dozens of Lonsdale logos.

Elsewhere on the site hundreds of people were in long production lines in the heat sewing clothes together ready to be shipped to Mike Ashley’s UK stores. They were bagged up - and amazingly even had a 70% discount sticker already added before they left the factory.

The manager told the undercover reporters that his factory did not meet the internationally accepted standards for all garment workers – known as the AS 8000 standard.

It guarantees no child labour is used, and the workers get a living wage without excessive overtime - in a safe and decent environment.

The factory manager admitted, to meet the standard he would have to improve conditions in the factory - and pay staff more.

Many other major sports retailers - such as Nike publically list all their suppliers who all have all passed this test. Sports Direct doesn't list its suppliers.

A spokesman for Mike Ashley told the BBC that the neither the company nor the club would be commenting. They did say that some of the questions the programme makers had written to them about were "inaccurate and misleading" – although they haven’t said in what way.

The spokesman added they'd be watching the programme closely.

God, this is one thing I love about not606, I can actually mention Mike Ashley's human rights abuse without being silenced by the mods.

To be fair lads, the guy's asked a question, not in a particularly wumming way. Stupid question in all fairness, but still doesn't merit sheer hostility.

But yeah, Leazes has hit the nail on the head with his answer. Ashley's done a lot wrong.

The old 606 would have had this removed very quickly.

I recall that I had an article about the accounts of the football club removed as it was deemed off topic.

That was his own money not the clubs money so he can use it as he wants.
    But the rest i agree.
Well also Kuqi can be a decent player but was only brought in (as you say) to add numbers but that was to releif some pressure on our front men, this was done my pardew not ashley.
Also i dont know how a MA can be the blame to taking us down, is he on the pitch kicking the ball? no? i think when we lose we cnt blame ashley, maybe yes this time we can because of ****E funding but when we went down we easily had a decent team for mid spot, but they were lazy ****s and cba, for example, martins, bassong, beye, owen the list can go on, they didn't give a fly **** about the club, why else would that have left, unless MA asked them to **** off because their ****e, if so well played.
