Cameroon player from Marseilles, reported by QPR Transfer news and THe Guardian, don't know much about him.
Not interested unless he is 14, 6 foot 8 minimum, has at least 100 caps, and can play goalie as well.
This would be a huge signing if it came off. To persuade a player who plays in front of 60,000 each week and plays CL footy to come to QPR would be quite the feat. I'm skeptical for that reason. The other slight worry is that he would be off to the ACON, another missing player over that period! Diakete, Taarbat, Trarore and potentially this new chap. That would be quite some loss!
Better than Flyer mate As far as I know he's very good. Can play both centre back and defensive midfielder. Actually asked DT about him a couple of months ago, never got an answer though (think he have me on ignore ). Thought he would know a thing or two about the French league. Input would be much appreciated DT.
Cheers. Think he starte out as a defensive midfielder, but has been used by Marseille and Deschamps as a CB with success. From wiki: "Stéphane began his playing career at the famous Kadji Sports Academy in Douala, Cameroon where fellow Cameroon internationals Samuel Eto'o, Carlos Kameni and Eric Djemba Djemba played. In 2004 he moved to France, to join Stade Rennais. Mbia emerged into the Rennes first team in the 2005–06 season, making a handful of appearances. The Cameroonian scored his first Ligue 1 goal for the club in November 2006 against champions Olympique Lyonnais. On 18 April 2007, Mbia was racially abused by Lyon striker Milan Baroš which led Baroš a 3 match ban by implying that M'Bia smelt after Baroš was found guilty the gesture, but found not guilty of racism.[1][2] On 14 July 2009, M'Bia completed his £10.4 million move to Marseille from Rennes. He participated in winning the French Ligue 1, being replaced at mid-season in a centre back position, along with his team mate Souleymane Diawara. His repositioning as a center back was a success and he played the rest of the season in this position, where he was considered to be one of the best performers in Didier Deschamps' squad." He won't come cheep as Marseille would want to recoup most of their outlay. Even experienced racism in France, if we sign him and Samba we could have the two of them and Ferdinand to have a 'word' with our beloved JT in September
